I would love to model this and the Enterprise in 3d.Β Re-enact the battle scene.

The Miranda Class was referred to as a Cruiser, a Light Cruiser, and Research Cruiser, during the TMP Era...As a Destroyer, Frigate, and Supply Ship, during the TNG Era...And as a Light Cruiser in the "Star Trek Online" MMO.
Before anything official was put out, fans referred to it as the Avenger Class Heavy Frigate. So Some still insist the Miranda Class is a Heavy Frigate.

Yup...And that's not counting the variants, like the Saratoga, the Lantree, and the Brattain subclasses....And of course the Soyuz, which became it's own class.

And all because the original concept for theΒ hijacked ship from WoK was approved after accidentally being viewed upside down...

She's looking as good as the Enterprise.
Same niggle on the blue hull colorings, though

On of my favorites.... but itΒ΄s still annoying the heck out of me that the miranda is more or less missing a deflector dish...

Hmmm I had my thoughts yesterday on it... do you know what those parts with the the starfleet emblem in the dorsal view are? (1 one the Torpedo box and 1 on each side of the bridge module) Maybe those are the deflectors...

It's possible, given that they're typically found with the main deflector dish on Connies.

Or in those recesses or as some suggest, along the leading edge of the 'rollbar' .
On TOS designs, those three "lights" at the bow of the class one primary hulls were the main deflector system and navigational deflectors, refer to blueprints, ships of the star fleet etc.
The Coventry Class being one of my favourite TOS Frigates.
