I have SketchUp 7. But I think that the plugin should work with 7 and 8. :\
When you were exporting the model from SketchUp did you save the model as a ".x" file? If you didn't put a ".x" at the end of the name, then MMD or PMD editor won't load it. Well at least that's what happens when I forget to do that.

It's always save as an x file but PMD editor won't let me see it. It's there but again it's not. -_-
