In my senior year of high school, I took a web design class (the same one that the Eggplant Junction characters were created for). We were working in groups, and my group wanted to make a web site for the high school’s cartooning department called “Eye Candy Academy.” I made this tutorial to put on that site, which unfortunately never actually made it online.

I had been drawing Sonic and related characters for about ten years, so I thought I was probably qualified to make a basic “How to draw Sonic” tutorial. It doesn’t look as impressive as I had hoped, but I think it gets the job done. At least one friend of mine found it helpful, which warms the cockles of my heart.

Edit: The 3-page “How to Draw Sonic” tutorial is one of my most popular deviations, despite being a quick thing I did for a school project back in 2005. It’s not entirely accurate, especially the quills on page 3. I don’t plan to extend it or update it. If it helps you, that’s awesome. If not, try these:
