Description
Hal Jordan. The Green Lantern.I know nothing about this character other than what I've read in Darwyn Cooke's brilliant New Frontier.
I like the idea of Hal wanting nothing more than to be able to fly and being granted that ability. To soar through the beautiful blue sky, above the clouds and with the birds, wind in his hair...
Lovely.
That's what I wanted to get across with this. That sense of intimate wonder and the pure contention of indulging in a 'super power'.
Did this as a belated request for and an excuse to draw someone I've never drawn before.
I can see a bit of a Tony Harris influence here. Or am I just getting a bit ahead of myself?

I agree with you with Hal just wanting to be able to fly. I'd so totally be the same.
He looks adorable here! Nice work!

It's an internet meme, It's called "troll face". I compared it to this, and this won in a battle of how epic they were.
Es ist ein Internet Meme, nennt man das "Troll-Gesicht". Ich verglich sie das, und das gewann in einem Kampf von epischer wie sie waren.

Oh, I know that. I just didn't know what the hell you were talking about, ha ha. Cheers all the same, bud. I'm hoping the battle was epic too involving all sorts of green versus trolly shit.

An epic scrap if ever there were to be one.

Cheers. I just remembered back to how I was the first time I went on one of those dangle roller coasters. Very nice feeling.

I LOVE this, and I LOVE Hal. Despite you not really knowing Hal, you really captured him. As a pilot and all, being able to fly is all he ever wanted.
Awesome Job, and I love the coloring!

Cheers, bud. Glad you like it. And glad to hear a fan of the character likes my take on him.

Looks great! You really captured that expression well.
Have you seen the trailer for the new movie yet? I'm significantly more excited about this drawing than for that entire movie.

Ha ha. Thanks. I've seen it, yeah. I'm quite looking forward to it. I've not read the character before so it'll all me new to me. Really looking forward to this, X-Men First Class, Captain America and Thor.

The one I was really looking forward to was the Deadpool movie. But then they scrapped that film so that Reynolds could do Green Lantern... so I'm pretty biased against Green Lantern.
Did you hear that Darren Aronofsky (the guy that directed The Wrestler) is doing the next Wolverine movie? I'm real curious how that is going to turn out.

Deadpool is back on. But I don't care about anything anymore because the worst has happened. Aronofsky has left The Wolverine.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What!? Urgh. He was the only reason I was excited for another Wolverine movie. If they get Brett Ratner to direct the next Wolverine movie I'm going to throw up.
I read that about Deadpool too. That's really good news. I hope they don't do some sort of weird CGI body for him like they're doing in Green Lantern though. It makes him look really anorexic.

I'd imagine they'd stick pretty close to Deadpool's suit but without the sleeves. Even the mask is doable, sans the white-out eyes.
If Ratner goes anywhere near Wolverine I'll shoot the fucker. But I have a feeling that either Aronofsky will return or Bryan Singer will. Call it a hunch.

I hope you're right. To be honest I wasn't hugely fond of what Singer did with the first X-men movie, but I DID quite like the second one. I think they just need to stop making X-men movies altogether so that the franchise can return to Marvel.

Technically it is with Marvel. They have just as much say in the film as Fox does. Kevin Feige can veto anything he doesn't want to appear on screen. If Marvel consider it in any way against what they believe the X-Men are or represent. Fox only have a licence to make the movies. They don't own the characters.
I really enjoyed the first X-Men film. But I adore the second. Right up there in my top 3 of all time favourite movies. And even though Wolverine isn't in it, I think First Class is shaping up to follow that second film.

Thanks. I wanted a more contented look for this too. Just wanted him so happy to be flying. Without a plane.
