Brief Description: His fur is short and sleek, fluffing up slightly on the top of his head and chest. It shifts gradually from lighter browns to a deep brick tone on his shoulder and head. His underbelly is lighter and his back is covered with bold dark spots. A dark stripe begins at the base of his spine and extends down his back, underlined by the light beige from his belly.

[ Quick-Witted | Friendly | Optimistic | Theatrical | Curious | Gluttonous | Dependent | Fake | Oblivious ]

[Sharp|Friendly|Optimistic]
Despite growing up in the Pits, Gordon has never had any issues finding the good in a situation. He has no issue keeping his chin up through even the worst of times because he is always confident that nothing will ever be as bad as it was in the Pit. With this, he’s able to always carry a cheery attitude and work alongside others, no matter how frustrating they may be. He’s quick to declare other cats his friends or even family, slapping labels on those who may not return his relatively shallow affection. His brain is sharp from eagerly listening to all the stories told by the older cats of the Pits and hunting for connections and clues to figure out their endings before they were announced. This grew into a love of wordplay and puns within the tom, which was only encouraged further by his introduction to Def, a tom who struck him as almost exactly like the Gordon he aspired to become. His generally goofy demeanor keeps things light and happy, which can cause some issues when more serious events take place. For the most part, however, he exists with little conflict between himself and other cats as he’s able to let harsh words and criticisms slide off his back with little consideration.

[Theatrical|Curious|Gluttonous]
Because Gordon grew up with access to very few luxuries in life, he’s quick to jump on anything that sparks even a mild amount of joy in his life. Be it food, an adventure, or a friend’s company he will suck up any excitement he can from it before even considering letting it go. This also means he struggles to focus on things he can’t find a way to make fun or exciting for himself, such as cleaning or simply being lectured by another cat. He’s easily distracted and quick to investigate new discoveries in hopes of finding a tasty meal or something incredibly entertaining to get lost in. He loves to make a big deal out of most things, especially considering it gets interesting cats to pay attention to him even when there’s nothing incredibly interesting going on.

[Dependent|Fake|Oblivious]
Gordon bases much of his success and happiness in life on the reaction and attention of those around him, meaning he's quite uncomfortable with the feeling of loneliness. So long as there is someone he can run to who will pay attention to him and make him feel okay he never has to deal with things alone. Instead, the tom spends much of his time building friendships with others to make sure he has something of an army to fall back on when life gets tough. In order to appeal to as many cats as possible, he's gotten the hang of putting on a smile and a charming voice regardless of his actual thoughts about the cat. Additionally, he likes to put on shows of strength and aptitude for those around him to keep them entertained and invested in himself, but will often slip in lies and falsehoods to make himself out to be even better. When called out on these, he's quick to laugh it off and say it's just for effect, but will continue to include them in the future. He's quite unaware of this dependency and propensity to lie, often thinking its simply a necessary part of finding friends and being successful in life.

|| Biography ||
Kitten
(0-6 months)
He knew nothing beyond the Pits. He was born there, he was raised there, and everyone thought he would die there. The tom was abandoned by the mother who'd never wanted kits as soon as possible. There were a few dames with some hope remaining who took in the crying kitten and gave him what little milk they had. He was raised communally, tossed around from dame to dame, taking whatever milk he could until he could stomach the rancid meat thrown in the Pits. Life was miserable, but that misery was unavoidable, so he found no dread in it. Instead, he attempted to make every day in the Pits a positive one. He woke up each morning confident that this day would be better than the last. He created games to distract himself from the suffering and enjoyed talking and joking with the few remaining cats who could stand to have a conversation. Once he met Evelyn, he began spending most of his time by her nest, listening to the tales of grand adventures she told.

He found comfort in one of her heroes in particular, Gordon the Great, a tom who left gold where he stepped and ran about the overworld rescuing cats from Pit after Pit, slaying Tyrants with a single mighty blow. Since his sleep was plagued with nightmares, the kitten spent his days dreaming of the great adventurer and waiting for him to come vanquish their Tyrant and free them from their suffering. He spent every day by Evelyn's side, begging relentlessly for more stories. She often obliged, finding some comfort in the activity as her body withered away. She grew close to the kit and entertained his fantasies despite warning from the other adults that she'd only cause him pain and his death was as inevitable as hers. She didn't care. If they were all going to die, at least he could die happy.

Youth
(6-12 months)
With Evelyn's stories fueling his positivity and imagination, he grew to be a lively young tom. He bounced around annoying the adults and attempting to get the other kits to play with him. When a new little cat arrived out of nowhere, he was quick to jump on her and claim the dame as his best friend. As Patches could not speak, she could not protest this friendship and was beaten into submission by his overwhelming affection. He and Patches ruled the Pit, at least in his mind, leading groups of kittens in games of war and hide and seek. On days when he hadn't eaten enough to keep his energy up, he returned to Evelyn for stories or told his own, fabricating tales of a world full of heroes and the community in which they all lived together. With Gordon the Great as their leader, they would rescue the kits and bring them there one day to be raised as heroes themselves. He was told this was nothing more than a fantasy, but the little tom disregarded the words of others, choosing to keep his head up and hope.

When he was ten months old, the heroes came for him. They came with a boom, as the walls around him crumbled to reveal an escape route. It wasn't a cat made of gold who came to save them, but a strange tom with flames on his fur. Even if he wasn't Gordon, this cat looked like a hero, and the kit was quick to follow him to freedom. He climbed the rock pile, determined to join the land of heroes he'd told all those tales about. He was aware of Evelyn's nest beneath the pile as he climbed, but could not be sad about her demise. He was positive she wouldn't have wanted that, and knew that he could become a hero and live a satisfying life for her and prove that all the dames who called her a liar were liars themselves.

They asked for his name, and he started on his path. For now he was Gordon, but he knew he'd become Gordon the Great.
