My newest pride and joy!
A double portrait of princess Zelda and Link.
Total size of each drawing:
1" x 1" / 25mm x 25mm / €2.-
Back in the NES era Zelda was the first game I liked to play.
...Good old times!
While Zelda was the last portrait I've drawn in 2011, Link's portrait was the first of 2012. I used two references for the poses, but changed their facial appearances to my heart's content.
I spent about half an hour on placing the eye shimmering with white gel by using a needle. In between every heartbeat my hand was steady enough to press the needle (+ white gel) on paper. But even then I hit the needle 0.3mm too high or too low for about 2 or 3 times, and I had to start all over again.
The pencil in the picture is to show how small they really are. Both portraits were, as usual, drawn with mechanical pencils.
I'm thinking about selling these 2 portraits, so if you're interested in buying them, don't hesitate to send me a note!
:~~~~~:~~~~~:~~~~~:~~~~~:~~~~~:
Stuff used:
- 2H, H, HB, B 0.3mm mechanical pencils
- 2B 0.5mm mechanical pencil
- Schoellershammer natural paper
- kneaded eraser
- 2 reference images
- white gel + needle for eye shimmering
- magnifying glass
Time spent:
10 hours for Zelda
8 hours for Link
More of my miniatures can be found in this folder .

I think, you have tanlent for more than illustration and fan art; you could cosiderate the bell art as an option you're able to do anything you want

Lol, magnifying glass... then again, you can't see that small anyways. XD
I'm at an awe as to how you highlight such small areas.
Can you make a really quick tutorial on how/what you do to highlight such small areas?
Only a few snapshots would be fine.

Well especially writing down the signatures on both portraits was impossible to do without a magnifying glass you still can't read them with the naked eye. Only a magnifying glass will do!
