I'd like to do another hair tutorial for cell shading one day... but this is the soft shading method I use most often for now

Lovely tutorials! I'm very inspired after reading through many of these!

I am having difficulty in locating the APOF brush, however. I have Photoshop CS5. Should this brush be one of the defaults, or do I have to download it elsewhere? I'm looking at the "brush" section, but all I have are the basic "hard" and "soft mechanicals"... Also, would I have to tweak the presets, or would it be fine as is?

Thanks for your time, my friend.

ahhhhΒ

Unfortunately in CS5 they changed the brushes around a bit.

I believe thisΒ www.mediafire.com/download/zsn… is where I downloaded the old basic brushes, which should include APOF and everything that older versions of photoshop use (as far as I remember).

I have CS5, but I don't actually use any of the brushes that came with it because I don't like tilt sensitivity... so I can't really help you with the settings on those, sorry. ;-;

Omigosh, thank you so much for the quick response! Immediately, I downloaded the brushes in your link, and am loving the APOF! It's SO much better than CS5's default brushes.

Thanks for the help and recommendation, my friend! It means a lot to me!

Yeah for some reason the default brushes for CS5 are really crappy...

Glad I could help ^_^

Why did you added this tutorial to "kick your ass" group...?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

caydett In reply to Kanimir [2011-07-27 17:05:18 +0000 UTC]

#KickYourOwnAss is meant to be a group that is supposed to help people improve on their own works and skills (and to show how much some artists have improved), so I think submitting a tutorial is fitting, no?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Kanimir In reply to caydett [2011-07-27 17:38:44 +0000 UTC]

Well, not really. People shows how much they improved there, and thats it. It's not for tutorials...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

caydett In reply to Kanimir [2011-07-27 17:41:05 +0000 UTC]

If they didn't want tutorials, then they wouldn't have a tutorial folder ^_^
I have submitted several tutorials, and never had any problems.

Oh, you're right! xD Ive never seen this folder or someone submiting a tutorial before, so I thought they just made mistake and added your tutorial there. Sorry! >.<
