NextPage 1 of my 8 page comic adaption of ErlkΓΆnig, a poem by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Ink pen and pencil on paper, 9" x12".

Translated text:
Who rides so late through night and wind?
It is the father with his child;
He holds the boy comfortably in his arms,
He holds him safe, he keeps him warm.

I looked at your of this poem a couple of years ago when I had a different account and before I had kids. Before it was creepy, but it takes on a whole new meaning after having kids an especially have losing one. Excellent work.

I only recall a bit of what I read of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's "Alderking", (same thing).
"Who rides through the night and storm so wild?
It is a father who carries his child."
Although, that last bit on the last stanza just brings a grin upon my face.

I tried my best to cobble together translations from internet sources but I know none of them do the original work justice. I've lost a lot of my German prowess (what little I had) but I still love this poem.

..I will not lie. Your horse makes me chuckle a little bit. BUT your people are as always amazing and I cannot draw people even nearly as good as you can, so a lil amusement at your horse is acceptable right?

I should have mentioned in the comments-- I suck at horses. Like, I figure I can slide by, but I know they're pretty stupid looking XD

Hahaha! It is ok, I am sure all your adoring fans will forgive you. The reason I commented was because pretty much my whole first ten years spent drawing was horses (yes I was that girl), but you are right, you can slide by. BUT it is not everyday I get to point out a flaw with you, so give me my glory, darnit!

By all means, point out my flaws! They are there. I know where they are, usually, but it can't hurt. I'm tough, I can take it.
And as an aside, my mother was that sort of girl, too-- and though her drawing abilities aren't where mine are, or where hers used to be, she can still draw a horse in like 3 seconds. I guess one day I'll get the hang of it, maybe.
