Description
If this is in the wong category, please let me know XDOkay, so, I've promised this thing to a lot of people at a lot of different times. And I've put it off, and put it off... and finally I was prodded enough to freaking do it! So here it is! My very own tutorial on how I draw hands. I tried to keep it simple while covering all the bases I could... and in doing so, pointing out and clearing up common mistakes I've come across.
I hope it helps! Feel free to download and share around as much as possible... credit to me is always welcome
If you fave this, thank you! I can't take the time to thank everyone one at a time, but I really appreciate it, and I hope it comes in... handy

Thank you very much! And BTW, 1st and 3rd fingers vary from person to person, they can be the same lenght or one of them can be longer

Yes they do, but as a general rule drawing them as the same length works just fine. Also, you're welcome!

Haha, do! It'd be interesting to sit down with them one at a time, drawing a hand as each of them suggest, and see what the results are!

Thank you soooooooooo much for this, I nearly always draw my characters while hinding their hands. Otherwise they tend to look like mutant things xD

oh dear, I'm really glad this will help! I know that hands are tough, but I hope you come to love them as I do, they really are fantastic, dynamic things that will help you convey a lot of emotion and info about your character.
Keep practicing, hope it goes well for you!

Very well done tutorial. I touches on the basics and many of the general errors people make.
I'd suggest in the future to include many more examples of the hand the more images to reference in a tutorial the more likely the viewer is to return to a tutorial and in looking over it for a particular reference position refresh their mind on it's lesson.
Particularly helpful would illustrations of the fingers in various stages of opening and closing the fist. Likewise I notice there's nothing really said about the wrist, probably one of the spots on the hand/arm that gets the least amount of attention but can throw off an otherwise good drawing of the hand.

Good points! I sort of got burnt out by the end, and it shows. Maybe in the future I'll add to it, or have a part 2! The big idea was just to get people to understand the shapes in the hand and fingers.
Thanks for the feedback!

Right. Honestly I'd go with just adding to /editing the original file then making a part too, unless of course your art style has significantly changed since you did this.
Oh, something I forgot to mention was that your tutorial is one of few that actually shows how to draw knuckles.
