Description
Tutorial for painting a close-up of a Wolf (or any other furry creature).WARNING: large file. It might take a while before the tutorial shows up on your screen, so please, be patient. I was too lazy to add a preloader...
Use the buttons at the top of the tutorial to navigate through the slides. I have no idea why the text has turned out jagged and hard to read, so I apologise if you have difficulties reading it.
ARTIST'S COMMENTS
Thank you ever so much for my second DD ~AnimalLover345 and ^shelldevil !
EDIT: Due to popular demand I re-named the tutorial more appropriately "How to Paint a Wolf".
EDIT 2: Fixed all known spelling mistakes.
A tutorial I pulled together of my last Wolf piece. I don't know if it will be of help or use to anyone, but there's no harm in making one anyway! Please bear in mind that this is the first time I've drawn something this furry this close up, so I'm sure there are other ways of doing this too.
If you have any problems with viewing the tutorial or any questions or problems in general, please let me know. I'll be happy to help as much as I can
NOTE: The tutorial explains functions and options available in Adobe Photoshop CS2. Any older or newer version of Photoshop should still work just as well. I have no experience in any other digital editing program (such as GIMP or Corel Painter) so I have no idea to what extent you can follow the tutorial there. If anything, it might just give you an idea of how to draw similarly, but you will have to find out on your own I'm afraid.

I really appreciate very much this tutorial, my old dream is to have a tablet to draw, but here in Brazil is very expensive. Actually I never saw anyone using tablet to draw but I have a lot of curiosity and desire to learn.

I know tablets can seem very expensive, but if you're passionate about drawing then they are definitely worth the money!

I'm not sure if it's a feature only included in the CS versions or not, I've never used anything older than CS2 myself. The correct term for it is a clipping mask, so try doing a google search for it and see if it comes up with anything

this s very helpful however the only problem is that i do not have a herd round brush i just have a round brush, will that still have the same thing if i use the round brush??

cerona In reply to LupusDream [2011-11-20 12:43:50 +0000 UTC]
The hardness of the brush is something you change yourself, so the brush is initially just a round brush. Under the same settings where you change the size there's also a slider to adjust the hardness. This just determines if the edge of the brush is hard and sharp, or soft and blurred. Keep this at 100%

cerona In reply to TiikaniRose [2012-08-26 23:21:22 +0000 UTC]
You can use any hard-edged brush instead and just tweak the settings manually. Tick the "airbrush" option and enable "flow" and "opacity" for pen pressure And sorry for the late reply! I'm sure you've either figured it out, given up or forgotten about it by now

That's good to hear This tutorial was put together in Flash. It was simply just a job of pasting my already made JPEG slides into separate keyframes in Flash and link them together with buttons
