So yep. This was my entry to SavAnijam 2007, a 24-hour animation competition at SCAD. The surprise theme this year was 'Spin/Twist.' This won Honorable Mention. :3Done in Flash, frame-by-frame. This was really fun to do, and I'm really happy with it. I've never done any four legged motion before. And I got to do bouncy stuff, which is my fave. Bouncy and the overlapping action of the tail. ^^ Makes me happy.
And yeah, he's missing his tail in one shot. 24 hours goes by fast. ._.

lol. Nice. Again, could have used music, but overall, this was really good. The animation was nice, and the style was interesting. Did they let you use music in the comp.?

Yeah, sound was allowed. But it was only 24 hours, you see, and I didn't want to waste any time looking through my iPod for music that matched the mood of my piece.

If you know your ipod well enough, you should know the music you have in it and optimaly, you should only spend a minute or two picking out a toon and slamming it in. I'm sorry if it sounds like im being mean with music, but I simply love music and anmation. I do both, so I get sad when one of the two gets comprimised

Because the theme was "Twist!" XDD (Though I may have been the only one to interpret that theme as 'plot twist.')

I love how bouncy and full of life that little critter is. XD And I love how you animated the tail. I also enjoy the scene where the fox first realizes the plant is after him. It's a fun way to use squash and stretch.
Maybe the plant will realize it doesn't like the taste of fox and spit him out?
I find it fun how grim your story lines tend to be while your characters are so adorable. I never would expect it!

I don't know if I would like everything I watch to have a sad ending (It would just be depressing after a while!) but it works for a lot of things. Disney's The Little Match Girl for example.

Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. I love the storyline, the camera angles, the fluffy tail... I especially liked the acting of the fox, the slight skidding around corners as it dodged and darted really made it felt like it had weight in that body. All I can say is that it totally earned that Honorable mention.
Is there a site that's got all the entries to the competiton on it? I'd really like to see... *rubs hands greedily*

I don't think they've posted a site, since I think the Animation Club is going to try and sell DVDs. :/ But I should try and search for each piece individually, hoping most of the entrants also put their work online. The winner's was truly hilarious. ^^
