Description
Stamp by ~ChikitaWolfBackground from Google
I find nothing amusing whatsoever about that horrible event. I can understand people'll joke about it and most don't mean harm necessarily; but lately, I've noticed the joking has gone overboard to the extent that people will call it amusing [and believe it].
What the Hell is so amusing about that event? About all the people who died? About all the destruction? About the suffering that still occurs today because of it?
I just don't understand.
To those of you who literally, and I mean literally, think 9/11 is AMUSING, I think you need to take a trip on Youtube and see the news reports of 9/11, or look up "9 11" on Google images. Perhaps even check up on this site as well-> [link]
If you think people jumping out of the twin towers because they had nowhere to go, the firefighters who were killed upon entering to attempt to save those in the towers, and all the other lives that were lost tragically is amusing, I think you need your head checked, IMHO.
Because that's just sick.
//end rant
Edit: There will be trolls on this. It would probably be better just to ignore them...Unless you have a funny comeback comment >w> *reading those in amusement*
Edit2: I must say, I never expected someone to get POed by me giving my opinion on this subject. If you feel that I need to "pull the stick out of my ass" and "GTFO the internet" for "not accepting other people's opinions", please take a look at your own advice.
Edit3: Thank you for all the favs and views!
Edit4: 2nd page for 8 hours? Awesome xD Thanks again!
Edit5: Gotta love dem edits. Ahem. Anyway! I came home to find 100 comments. I can't reply to them all D: So, yeah. If I don't reply, I apologize, but I really am reading all of your comments. And, on a side note; yes, I understand people have dark humour and other opinions. But ya know, this is mine. I believe that there's a boundary that ought not be crossed when it comes to joking around about tragedy [and then believing the actual event is amusing].
Edit6: Just to get this out there, I'm not going to throw a which tragedy is worse pity party comparison. Tragedy is tragedy. And I'm talking about 9/11 in this stamp, not Japan. If you want to see something for the tragedy of Japan, do look up a stamp for that. And please, people, I realize people die everyday. But that doesn't make 9/11 any less horrible, imo. Whenever I get a comment throwing out statistics about how many people die per day I do this -> . Please stay on the subject of the stamp. Thanks ahead of time for understanding~! :3
Edit7: Here we go~! For those who are ranting about other tragedies like Japan not getting attention and not being funny either -> [link] Enjoy :3
Edit8: Please read through comments before making your own... it's beginning to get rather repetitive ^^"
And honestly, I don't mind hearing other's opinions. I like to try and understand a view from another person's point of view. It'd just be nice if it could pertain to the actual subject of this stamp and not throw my words out of context... because the rash assumptions are beginning to get tiresome.
Anyway, I think this'll be the last edit I make. On a side note, if you'd like an earlier comment you made hidden due to excessive replies (or the like), just note me and I'll hide it for you. No problem~ ^^
*If there are any other edits on this (like to my original argument or to former edits), I'll put them in brackets

People just can't accept the fact that it was as simple as a hijacking that killed over 2 thousand people. It is not a conspiracy it was a terrible effort to cripple our country emotionally. 9/11 makes me so upset. I didn't know anyone killed then nor have I ever even been to Manhattan. But I was crushed. This past 9/11 the ten year anniversary every time I saw the footage on tv I wanted to cry. Those poor people. On the plane, in the building and even in the hotel. 9/11 took down more then just those two towers. RIP to the soul that were lost and screw anyone who wants to make jokes about people's family members dying. That is harsh! >

Same here :S I always find myself watching those videos on the news of the planes crashing... and then the towers falling.. it's just horrible. The entirety of New York was affected. Heck, the USA as a whole was really affected.

Its one thing to make a few 9/11 jokes, but mocking it is just sick.
-Family Guy 9/11 joke- Satan: "I see that you were part of a terrorist plot on Semptember 11th?", Goofy: "Thats what they get for suppourting Isreal", Satan: "into the eternal pit of fire you go", Goofy: "ahhhhhhh...".
The Family Guy thing was funny, because they diddnt MOCK it at all! I've actualy seen someone actualy Youtube Poop 9/11, NOW THATS JUST WRONG!
Cracking a couple jokes is ok, but mocking the people who died and offending thier families is just plain sick beyond belief!

What is with those morons? I've seen a ton of those too. It's one thing to honor the people who died by making a monument so the future generations will never forget, it is another to mock the people who died.

Yeah, making fun of the way people died on 9/11 isn't cool. I've seen some really crass halloween costumes depicting the towers with planes sticking out of them, little plastic figures used as jumpers, and so on. But on the other hand, I've actually seen some great tribute costumes as well- Tower angels, and another pair of towers with a "United we Stand" banner between them. To me, the latter are okay- they're meant and designed as tribute, and don't make fun of awful demises. such as jumping or being on a hijacked plane. What I hate though, is when people make no distinction between tribute and mockery, and get as outraged at non-traditional tributes as they do at outright mockeries. Or get arbitrary about things, saying that ANY creative work referencing 9/11 constitutes affront or jest.

Actually LiteratePothead makes the stamps that say "*enter random tragedy* was funny" But he's not serious, but if you're talking about someone who actually thinks 9/11 was amusing, well I agree, their sick.

But seriously, my true opinion on the issue was that it wasn't that bad compared to how bad it could have been. If it was in the afternoon instead of the morning, if the pentagon was hit in the center, if the plane that crashed in the field actually hit it's destination. This could have been a lot worse on us, and I mean a lot. And now for my opinion on the stamp. I politley disagree with you, I find some jokes about 9/11 to be pretty dang funny (EX: The one I made in my first comment, Nyan 11, etc) but the true matter isn't funny in the slightest manner. And plus, I really never cared. Sure it's intresting to learn about, the people who died and lost their loved ones was depressing and the heros were brave, but I just don't really care. But that's because I was probably to young to understand the situation when 9/11 first happened. (I was a fucking 3 year old, what was I suppose to know. But it did tramatize me)I just tend to joke about things to make the situations lighter. Oh ya, one thing. I had a friend who lost her dad on 9/11, she finds 9/11 jokes funny. If she can take them, you should be able to also.
Just my two cents. Have a nice day.
R.E.D.
P.S. I see that you are bashing anybody who disagrees with you, please don't. It's just personal taste.

Did you read my artist's description? Cuz I said I understand how people will make jokes to lighten the mood, lessen the pain, etc. I just dislike it when people actually start to find the event itself as amusing. Someone actually gave me a rather good one through note earlier
.
I don't remember it either. The only reason I know details of it is because the rememberance day and looking it up for myself. :S
...and now I'm wondering if you really read the comments, since I agreed repeatedly with people about joking...
Please define bashing, as it appears as if my definition differs from yours o.O
Thanks for the comment~ ^^

The event is not funny. I just can't take this world seriously enought to not laugh at a joke. Too soon, to me, is any time before it hits international news.
