Description
This fan character was made in collaboration with GazeRei , and we would love if people checked out both of our twins. Anurabis and Setesh were made together and go together, so you won't get the full picture without knowing them both. This is a project we'd been contemplating for a while, and now we're very excited to share the results with everyone ;v; We worked super hard on these two, so any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
We hope you enjoy our experimental, go fucking wild in creation DGM Egyptian twins! ♥
| Personal Information
B a s i c s ;Name: Setesh (Seth) Khalil
Nickname(s): Punk (by Sokalo), Seth (by those who can't pronounce his name)
Gender: Male
Age: 21 (June 1, 18XX)
Nationality: Egyptian
Blood Type: B
Zodiac: Gemini
Height: 174cm (5'8'' 1/2)
Weight: 74kg (163lbs)
Body Type: Muscular, but not as much as his twin. Lithe physique.
Notable Markings: eyes meticulously lined with kohl, usually decked out in jewelry (+eye pupils are stylized as diamond-shaped in artwork)
P e r s o n a l i t y ;Setesh is confident in his body and abilities and tends to fall back on logic more than emotion, which can make him come off as apathetic towards sensitive or personal issues. He's generally disinterested and laid-back, but due to his mood swings he can abruptly become snarky and testy, if not downright verbally aggressive. He's also brutally honest, which gets him into additional trouble when he feels like speaking his mind. Companionable silence doesn't bother Setesh and he doesn't often start conversation, but if his mood swings he might end up instigating a fight with whoever is closest without any provocation needed. If asked about it he'll say that it wasn't personal, but those who hold grudges will find themselves unable to get along with him.
Setesh is also a nosy lil shit if something catches his attention, but he's clever and subtle about it so most don't realize they've spilled until it's too late. Like his brother he's a great strategist, though more confrontational in his methods and on-the-spot. He's very meticulous about activities such as doing his make-up or playing games. As rare as it is, pissing Setesh off will result in a chilling silent treatment that will not end until he deems the person responsible is sorry for whatever they did (or until Lenalee decides to knock some sense into him via clipboard, Dark Boots, or comradie bitch slap; if that fails too, only Anurabis can quell Setesh's salt).
Interests: games, mythology, amulets
Likes: jewelry, traditional/cultural music, beer, horror stories
Dislikes: cold weather, fake amulets/knock-off jewelry, his kohl getting messed up
Quirks: Photographic memory. Completely comfortable around nakedness and sex; he could literally walk in on two people going at it, turn around, and close the door without much of a reaction (aside from maybe a deadpan comment on the performance). Snow confuses him immensely, and he becomes jumpy and fidgety around it. Mess up his kohl and he will destroy you.

| Work Information
P r o f i l e ;Affiliation: Black Order
Base of Operations: European Branch (HQ)
Occupation: Exorcist
Mentor: General Winters Sokalo
Partner(s): Anurabis
Golem: standard issue black, spherical body shape, has a long tail that's forked at the end (by his request); both Setesh and Anurabis add gold make-up to their golems and reapply it whenever the make-up wears off.
Preferred Mission Types: Known as the "Black Order's Twin Summoners," Setesh and Anurabis excel at mass Akuma extermination; when not on missions together, Setesh works mostly as back-up and rescue for exorcists and/or Finders that get swamped by Akuma numbers
Limitations/Punishments: Setesh isn't allowed on solo missions in populated areas due to his "unsatisfactory people skills." The last straw was a third huge bar fight he instigated, this particular one in Ireland, that resulted in twenty people injured and a destroyed bar; the Order had to pay for it all. Funny enough, the Irishmen and Setesh parted on good terms, though the same couldn't be said for the bar fight incidents in France and Italy.
A n t i - A k u m a W e a p o n ;Innocence Name: Set's Dominion
Innocence Type: Equipment (Was-sceptre)
Syncronization Rate: 88%
Deactivated Form: an ebony sceptre topped with a stylized Set-animal head and forked at the end (usually tucked in Setesh's uniform belt when not in use)
Level 1 | Dominion of Beasts, Set's Staff
Setesh's Was-sceptre flashes a green Innocencial light and it grows to half his height; it has the base ability to repel whatever it strikes (it can't destroy Akuma this way, but it can repel up to Level 2 Akuma). Setesh can also make the sceptre lengthen further into a staff for more reach. Otherwise this level's specific attack moves are characterized by the ability to summon phantom-like Set-animals to attack, trap, or defend against Akuma.
- [ Mark of Set ] An ability where Setesh touches a person/object with the animal-headed top or forked end of his sceptre to leave a summoning Mark on it/them. Each forked end-made Mark will summon a Set-animal phantom into guardian mode, where it will sit or lay down in an alert manner next to the Marked object/person; if an enemy gets too close, the guardian phantom will leap up and protect the Marked object/person. Each Animal-headed top-made Mark will summon a trap phantom, which will leap out of the activated Mark and viciously attack the enemy closest to it.
+ Marks are triggered via vocal commands or by pointing with his sceptre. If Setesh waves his sceptre, he'll activate multiple Marks. He can only have 7 Marks at a time laid out.
+ A single bullet or strike will destroy trap phantoms, while at least three Level 1 Akuma bullets or a single strong strike from a Level 2 and up will destroy guardian phantoms.
- [ Beasts of Set ] An attack where Setesh summons five phantom Set-animals, three of which are solid and two of which are not. Only Setesh can distinguish by sight alone which ones are solid and which aren't (although Lavi insists he can too). The solid phantoms can land physical hits, tearing violently into opponents, while the other phantoms can knock the air out of and/or blow back enemies by jumping through them in a whirl of wind. Solid phantoms must be destroyed physically, and unsolid phantoms must be destroyed via dissipation in an energy attack.
+ This move is most effective the first time it is used. The number of phantoms that appear decreases by one per use; but the type ratio remains about the same.
+ Can fight on par with and defeat Level 2 Akuma. Effective in annoying Level 3 Akuma if used in Level 2 Release.
+ The Set-animal phantoms are trickster creatures and make unnerving sniggering/cackling sounds. Setesh wears bandages on his arms and legs because they have a tendency to show their "love" by nipping him.
Level 2 Release | Bringer of Chaos, Set's Spear
A rush of wind and bright red light surrounds the Was-sceptre/staff and it transforms into a spear with which Setesh can now battle; the base ability to repel remains and can now fully knock back Level 3 Akuma and destroy Level 1 Akuma. Guardian-mode Marks of Set disappear, and the amount of trap Marks he can make at a time doubles, although only 7 at a time can be active. Beasts of Set becomes completely unpredictable, summoning any type and number of phantoms between 1 and 7, and they are harder to control. Setesh gets a lil excited in Level 2 Release, and often requires a good wack from his twin to snap him out of battle fever.
- [ Repeller of Apep ] Setesh's strongest attack. Set's Spear tip burns a blinding red light, and a high pitch whistling resounds from it. Setesh can either stab or throw the spear, and an explosive blast will issue forth from whatever it comes into contact with. This attack will obliterate the Akuma it strikes directly (if it's a weakened Level 3 or below), and it will destroy and/or violently blast back Akuma within a 15 foot radius with strong red-tinted winds. Set's Spear requires a 15 second recharge after using this attack; the blast and resulting winds usually lasts for a little more than half of this time, leaving the remaining precious seconds for Setesh to defend himself with his weapons repelling ability. After the 15 seconds are up, he can use his other attack moves/abilities again.
+ Resulting shrapnel is common and dangerous, which makes it risky to use when comrades who can't shield themselves are nearby. (He caught Lenalee in the resulting wind turbulance once and never used this attack again near her lest he risk the clipboard of doom).
+ If he has any remaining Beasts of Set Set-animals out, the phantoms will be whisked up and increase the energy of the attack and violence of the winds.
+ This attack is strongest and most violent the first time it's used. Using it again will result in three quarters of the strength of the original attack, after that a half, and after that a quarter. (Using it a fourth time results in this dorky little high-pitched failed explosion like a tiny firework spark on the ground it's super embarrassing--).

H i s t o r y ; Setesh and his twin brother Anurabis were born to a couple of rich Egyptian collectors. While their parents were not at all supporters of Ismail Pasha's "We are now part of Europe" and the abandonment of the old ways[1], their work as scholars and influence in various native groups kept them in play with politics and advisory in the upper-class elite of Egypt. As a result, Setesh and Anurabis were never in want growing up. This is not to say, however, that they were the ideal good children - in fact, they took after their parents a little too strongly, and this showed in their subtle rebellious and trouble-making attitudes. They completely ignored the well-to-do coptic Christian or Muslim ways of life and instead immersed themselves completely in uncensored Egyptian mythology, which was easy considering their home was full of collected ancient Egyptian artifacts, constantly being switched out, given back to native groups, or lended to museums. Whenever their parents were busy, the twins would go so far as to "sneak out" (hired professional caretakers following in the shadows) and look for tombs and ruins in the desert. It was during one of these trips that Setesh was bitten by a snake and nearly died - almost traumatizing Anurabis in the process - but miraculously survived. Despite this setback, they didn't stop their adventures. Their antics and attempts to embrace and learn about the old Egyptian ways made them friends to many older and traditional Egyptian natives, who were only to happy to indulge the two (especially when the twins offered to barter their jewelry for more information). It was also in this way that Setesh and Anurabis met their childhood friend. When the twins were 9 years old, they were on their usual daily adventure when a little orphan girl tried to steal from them both. She had been attracted to their excessive gold piercings. The three immediately got into a tousle, the little girl not giving up and Setesh determined to get the last hit in. Anurabis ended up having to hold Setesh back before serious injuries occurred, and the little girl at that point was too exhuasted to continue. The three rested in the alley and chatted until they had caught their breathes. The little girl, who introduced herself as Akiiki, told them how her parents had died a few years back and that she was staying at a poorly funded orphanage nearby. There'd been food shortages lately, and as a result her and some of the other orphans had turned to desperate means to get food and money on their own. Setesh was less interested in her history and more in her strong attitude and fighting spirit. Anurabis was hit in the feels, being weak to sob stories and feeling empathetic towards her plight. The two twins, therefore, decided to befriend Akiiki; or as Setesh said "I like her, let's keep her." From then on they invited Akiiki on their adventures, and the troublesome twosome often became the troublesome threesome. Ever since Setesh was seven, he'd occassionally had mood swings. They were minor and only Anurabis seemed to notice them. However, as years passed, Setesh began to exhibit more violent mood changes. He would be calm one moment, then verbally attack his brother or anyone close without provocation. Setesh was unable to communicate that he didn't understand what was going on, let alone understand what was wrong with himself either, and his social bonds took a turn for the worst. By the age of 10 he began to let go of attachments and push everyone away, including Akiiki and even his parents - his parents especially, as they didn't understand what was wrong either and could only dish out punishments for his bad behavior. Setesh couldn't let go of his brother though, and the fear of hurting him began to consume him. Anurabis was about as lost as everyone else, not knowing what to do and freaked out by Setesh's unpredictable behavior - especially when it was directed at him. Finally the day came where Setesh's frustrations spilled over and he lashed out fully at Anurabis. During his tirade and insults, Setesh caught sight of Anurabis' hurt expression and broke down. He began to pull at his hair, screaming and cursing everyone and everything. Instead of damning Setesh like Setesh expected, Anurabis instead reached out and held him, stopping him from hurting himself and rubbing his back until Setesh had shouted his voice hoarse. While the brothers never spoke about the incident, it became clear that day that Anurabis had become Setesh's anchor. Setesh never lashed out at Anurabis again. While his mood swings continued, the twins learned how to deal with them together; and if they hadn't been inseparable before, they definitely were now. When Setesh and Anurabis were 12, their uncle sent their parents some new artifacts he'd come across to examine. It was a small collection of sceptres that had been found in an unmarked tomb. Predictably, Setesh and Anurabis got into the box when their parents got wrapped up in a meeting. Using gloves and careful hands, they examined the sceptres themselves with the techniques their parents had taught them, referencing back to their Egyptology books to try and figure out what kinds they were. In the process, however, Setesh became attached to one of the Was-sceptres, and Anurabis was having trouble putting down an odd one with an Ankh topping it. Deciding that no one was going to miss two out of a dozen sceptres for a few hours, Setesh and Anurabis took them. And like the little boys they were, they ran outside and had a mock battle between the Egyptian gods Set and Anubis - Setesh as Set and Anurabis as Anubis, of course. They so enjoyed themselves that they decided to keep the sceptres and have a yearly mock battle to "test who was the strongest twin." When Setesh and Anurabis were 15 years old, General Winters Sokalo arrived in town with Kazaana Reed and Chalker Laboun , passing through for a mission farther south in Africa. Whilst separated from the other exorcists, Sokalo came across Setesh and Anurabis' yearly mock battle and found their ferocity and competitive fever entertaining. Akiiki was there as well, and when Sokalo asked if the punks were fighting over her, she laughed and explained what was really happening. During the conversation, two of the fragments of Innocence collected in Sokalo's pockets heated up and shot out of his coat. One fragment merged with Setesh's sceptre, and the other with Anurabis' sceptre. The boys were so surprised by the flash of light and burst of power that they shouted and the Innocence reacted, blasting them backwards away from each other. Sokalo found this hilarious and let loose one of his crazy laughs - Setesh and Anurabis immediately assumed the crazy laughing man was to blame and came at him. Sokalo easily defeated the boys, picked them up under each arm, and carried them home, a worried Akiiki leading the way. When the twins' parents got home that night, they found their sons being tended to by Akiiki and a rambunctious, very intimidating looking man in their living room. Sokalo explained the situation to them, using his golem to confirm credentials (and the arrival of Kazaana and Chalker, who gave their own say after chastising Sokalo for disappearing on them). The twins' parents had no choice but to accept Setesh and Anurabis' recruitment. In an effort to give some type of support for their sons though, they also agreed to becomes sponsors of the Black Order; and as a result Setesh and Anurabis get monthly funding from their parents, despite how they are never permitted to send word or letters back. Akiiki, having been there during the explanation, didn't want to be left behind. She begged Sokalo to take her with him too, but Sokalo told her the only way she could come with them was if she became a Finder, and she wasn't old enough [2]. The next day as the twins were made to say their good byes, Akiiki promised them both that once she was old enough, she'd join the Order as a Finder and fight with them. Setesh and Anurabis were relieved about this at first; but as they started their training with Sokalo and learned of the true horrors of the Holy War, they would promise each other to end the War before Akiiki could ever join. This oath and goal has to this day been the driving force in Setesh and Anurabis' growth as exorcists.
[1] "The governor of Egypt, Ismail Pasha, stated in 1879: 'My country is no longer in Africa; we are now part of Europe. It is therefore natural for us to abandon our former ways and to adopt a new system adapted to our social conditions.' It is doubtful that the vast majority of the Egyptian people agreed with him." [Source ].
[2] It is not listed canonically whether there is an age limit to Finder recruitment; but because of the emphasis on there being no recruitment age for exorcists and the shocked reactions of as much even at the Order, we've decided there's enough implied to say so. Our headcanon is that age 16 is the youngest Finders get recruited.

Q u o t e s ;"Kul khara." ("Eat shit" in Arabic)"Bi kem el sharmoota di?" ("How much is this whore?" in Arabic - deadpanned when he first met Kanda) "Your hair is hideous this morning." (to Kira, usually)"RADAMMIT, ANU, YOU MUMMIFIED ME AGAIN!""If you swear to do something, I expect you to do it. Don't make an oath that you can't keep, because I won't trust you again.""This beast will protect you while we take out the Akuma - just don't pet it, it bites.""The women of this country are surely spawn of Sekhmet." "Well, I wouldn't tap that, but I won't complain about the view." "Look at all the shits I give - Oh right, I don't." "I like you better when you don't talk.""Allāh yišfīk." ( "Get well soon"; [lit. "May God heal you"] - to injured comrades in the infirmary) "Could you not." (to Allen's martyr-complex actions)
T r i v i a ;- "Setesh" is a variant of the name of the Egyptian god Set. In hieroglyphics, Setesh added the hieroglyph for "priest" both for the shits and giggles and to separate his hieroglyph spelling from Set's. "Khalil" is an Egyptian Arabic name meaning "companion."- While the Egyptian religion died out centuries ago with the destruction and dilapidation of its temples, Setesh has an obsessive interest in the mythology and beliefs of the ancient culture. He does not necessarily worship the Egyptian gods, but he does believe in them as well as other cultures' gods. Additionally, his strong aversion towards fake amulets or knock off jewelry is due to him having a similar ancient Egyptian belief in spiritual and magical protection through amulets and crafted metals.-If you wrong Setesh's twin, you wrong Setesh as well. Setesh also gets salty if someone other than him calls Anurabis "Anu," which he deems as a nickname only he can use. Setesh will usually revert to Egyptian Arabic when talking with Anurabis, and his speech tends to become more vulgar too. If Setesh feels someone is invading too much on his time spent with Anurabis, he'll immediately pick a fight with that person or try to scare them away. Anurabis fortunately is very perceptive and often sees the warning signs of this about to happen (Setesh's mood swings increasing / directing snider than usual comments towards the person), and will address the issue before it escalates.- Hit Setesh whether seriously or jokingly and he will without fail hit back, even if everyone's in the middle of a battle and it was friendly fire. The only ones exempt from this rule are Lenalee (because he doesn't have a death wish) and Miranda (because she's a cinnamon roll and not even Setesh is that heartless). This is also the reason why Setesh tends to get involved in bar fights. - Setesh doesn't have much of a libido and isn't interested in having a sexual or romantic relationship at this time. However, he has acknowledged advances from both women and men and has also unabashedly voiced appreciation for good looks in both. He's biromantic and falls under the "ace umbrella", probs Gray-Ace- Setesh dislikes wearing close-toed shoes. If he's not in sandals he's barefoot, and for cold climate missions (which aren't often for him) he'll wear socks with his sandals. Setesh also prefers loose-fitting pants; when Anurabis began to show a preference for wearing tight fitting pants instead, Setesh asked him how he fit his dick in them ("They do compliment your ass, though."). - Designing Setesh's uniform to his preferences and gaudiness was a nightmare. The only thing Setesh would compromise on was listening to Johnny's advise on wearing long sleeves rather than going sleeveless, not only because of climate changes but also because it provides protection in sealing out Akuma gases; a protection Setesh needs as an Equipment-type and also because he has a tendency to jump into the thick of things, where the gases are worst. Setesh also has a black face mask (looks like a headband around his neck under uniform that he can stretch up) to cover his nose and mouth that he uses on mass Akuma extermination missions to protect his lungs since the gases there are stronger.- Whether sleeping or awake, Setesh is always seen wearing jewelry, both normal and amulets (amulets usually have an animal character/attribute on them). His room is filled with his collection, and it's growing. Lavi once joked that Setesh probably showered with his jewelry on, and to everyone's bafflement/amusement Setesh didn't dispute his claim. Because of this, however, Setesh is often a target of muggers when on missions; while he always beats the shit out of the attackers in the end, it causes quite a few headaches for his Finders. - Setesh thinks Kanda's hair is too long, Kanda thinks Setesh's hairstyle is "fucking stupid". Allen says both Kanda and Setesh look feminine for men anyway. Setesh just shrugs, but Kanda predictably gets into a verbal spit with Allen.- The easiest way to get Setesh to grin is to get him drunk or whenever he's around his brother and they make a vulgar joke.- Setesh is fluent in spoken Egyptian Arabic, French, and English (English was a "pain in the ass" to learn, though). He's intermediate with Coptic Egyptian, Sa'idi Arabic, Spanish (courtesy of Sokalo), and Greek. Beginner with Irish, German, and Italian. He can't necessarily read all of these languages though, as he has a tendency to pick them up by ear. He can write well in Modern Standard Arabic, English (necessary for reports at the Order), and Egyptian (cursive) hieroglyphs.Read more about Setesh's relationships with canon here! WIP
