"Oi, d'you know where lady exorcists Kira and Rei are? Chief's got a mission for them." "Have you checked the library? Those two always read before they do their morning training." "Right... where in the library?" "Try the secluded corners, if you see the cats you're in the right place. (And if you find them before you find the cats... RUN)."This is an old messy lineart from this sketchpage that I promised Reisy I'd color ages ago oops;; It's a favorite of mine from the page anyway since imo it depicts them quite well as the best friends they are, while also showing the subtle differences between them as individuals.Β
Kira grew up on a farm so she's depicted more tomboyish and loose in posture; Rei was brought up as an educated lady so her posture isn't quite as loose and is a tad more dignified? There's also their clothing style preferences too, and their age/maturity gap (Kira is 15, Rei is 18). But regardless of their upbringings and preferences, they still relax in the same manner - reading novels on the floor in the Order library before their daily training, preferrably by a window for the morning sunlight surrounded by pillows and with their respective kitty friends. c:
Speaking of the kitties, Ren is pretty possessive of Rei, so he's glomming on her foot (Reisy will reveal information on Ren later); Chikita meanwhile is strategically getting distracted with catnip so she doesn't chase Rei's golem or go hunting any unfortunate Finders, scientists, etc that wish to use the library. She's a lil shit like that.

I reaaally love this drawing of them together, since, as you mentioned, it shows nicely how different they are both in look and style, yet they're still making a great team together as best friends ;u;Β
The different poses for both Kira and Rei is fantastic though, like how Kira is on some really interesting part, leaning on the book and still focusing on playing with Chikita, so she's kinda like you, multitasking xD And then you have Rei, sitting back elegantly, enjoying the book with the little golem and probably snickering about the fact that Ren is nomming on her foot xDΒ
You can always draw kitties so well, like their poses and expressions, their shiny, sparkly eyes *v* And the small golem omg xD It's just way too cute ;7; β₯β₯
I really love Kira's training outfit soooo much with the belt and such, and her hair is so cute like that, you should draw Kira more with this hairstyle *u* I bet Allen would love it too ;D
Hhhh, you always draw Rei so beautifully too, like her shiny, long hair, it looks so pretty how it falls on her chest and arm, it's a gentle details imo ;v; And loving this outfit of Rei too, definitely will use it in the future, with Kira many times -w-b

Like the purple shading on the skin really make it pop up even more and gives it a nice tone, especially with Kira's beautiful skincolor<3 The purple for the pants were a fantastic idea as well, and the highlights on their outfits here and there really adds to the picture ;u; The whole effects and extracolors you've used, just so atmospheric ;7; Along with the background, which looks really creative too, it creates a nice mood, it makes me happy and smiling when I look at it ;v;
Oh, and those pillow seem so fluffeh, I wanna hug them and sleep with them ;7;

I did struggle a lot with making those purples and yellows show well on Rei too tho ;o; I hadn't realized that with lighter skin tones it's harder to emphasize them with yellow like you can on darker skin tones ;-; Will have to practice that more >:V

Choosing the outfits was fun xD I ended up merging various ones for whatever training outfit would be most convenient for that day LOL. Normally Kira doesn't wear shoes for training, but I liked how my sketch lines for the boots turned out huehue. Now that I think about it, Rei's training outfit depicted here is an altered one I'm not sure Reisy has drawn yet oops - xDD

I just spent a long time just staring at this in awe of your masterful artsiness likeΒ Β
I haven't checked to see if this was the same on the sketch page, but I just noticed the subtle details on Kira's dangling belt thing whatever it's called and Rei's rear end and how they actually interact with the ground they're resting on. I would have completely neglected little details like that if I were drawing this myself.
Also, their poses look very natural and do a good job of showing their individuality in subtle ways. You drew Kira's loose slouch very well, which is something I can never get right with Silverton (who is always supposed to have a pretty consistent slouch, which I never manage to draw and ultimately give up on).
Another thing is that you used a shade of purple to shade their white pants. I wanna know, who in their right mind would use purple to shade white pants?? That sounds like blasphemy, but it works so damn well! I would never have thought of doing it that way, I would have been afraid of it looking weird. But nope, Chi knows what she's doing lol

Tbh, I've found doing smaller details are sometimes easier when I have a thick body lineart ;v; I use eraser to thin out the lines, and then end up adding interaction with the ground or other surfaces in doing so xD I'm glad someone noticed though <3
Slouches are hard amfg - I only seem able to draw them when I'm doodling or random sketching without thinking haha;;; I have noticed in your art where Silverton seems to slouch though! I actually wondered about that xDD
bROOO I was thinking the same thing when I threw the overlay on LMAO. Like, wait, purple??? What?? But then I threw in the yellow warm tones to balance it out, and it worked ;7; (I think Kira's skin color helps to add more warmth to balance though, so xD). alsdjfkasdf gLAD IT LOOKS LIKE I KNOW WHAT I'M DOING LOL //wings all the things /shot

That's the next major task of the DGM fandom, find a name for the dangly belt loop thingy xD
I don't use thick lineart ever really, so I can't usually do those little extra details that might have been mere afterthoughts. I always tend to think of those things when it's already too late to change it lol
You seriously noticed Silverton's slouch?? I try to draw her slouching but it never looks like it in the art I post of her at all! I've got some sketches that dA will never see where the slouch is more apparent, but I'm surprised you saw it in the art that's available.
For real, slouches are satan to draw, though. I try to draw it and she looks like Quasimodo and I justΒ Β
I feel like you deserve detailed feedback, since you always give such nice long comments. They're refreshing, especially when a lot of comments I get are shit like "nice art" and "good job" lol
