Been thinking about this for a while :V
Kinda similar to my other stamps mentioning DGM OCs and their owner's creativity, except this time a tad more direct.
If you want to create a neat DGM OC, try making up your own unique weapon. Don't copy a canon character's weapon.
And to those who are jumpy about copycats, remember that someone can still have their arm as a weapon and be distinctly different from Allen's :>

Some person said that my OC's weapon is a copy of Lavi's but then I looked at her's and it's an exact copy of Allen (accept it's on the right arm)

Its not just Allen's weapon that copying is a problem for. It drives me crazy to see OCs that are basically just female Allens :/

Dude, I spent weeks trying to figure out my OC's weapon and appearance to make her unique yes, she has a scar over her eye, but she's not cursed and it wasn't from an akuma or anything like that. I'm just a major sucker for facial scars :3
It takes a lot of time to make an interesting character. I'd be willing to bet Hoshino-sensei didn't just whip any DGM characters up in 5 minutes. So why can't fans take time to make their OCs worth looking into??

Haha I love it when something just hits me like that! But, alas, I actually ended up borrowing the general idea (controlling water) from a character in my favorite Lord of the Rings game

I've sen a lot of people ripping off Kanda's sword or Allan's arm several times -_-
and then there are people who start bashing an OC because their weapon is a glove or throwing knives or something and saying that they're 'copying the cannon characters'...Sure they are similar in a way but their abilities would be completely different!

I think it's rather jumpy to attack someone for having their hand or something as their parasitic weapon. I mean, if it doesn't have the same abilities as Allen's, what's the big deal? //lesigh
It's like, on one point, it's aggrivating with the copycats. On the other, it's aggrivating with the paranoid people

I've seen some real creative parasitic weapons, like my friends OC, her's is on her arm but it generates electricity which needs to be close range and can burn her if the charge is powerful enough. but anything involving a hand based weapon or anything with a blade ends up getting attacked py people who are so anal (and they're usually the ones who have a really impractical OC... ) . Anyway, there's only so many practical weapons you can come up with, you dint see any OC's with a wrench or poly pipe as their innocence for a reason

I never even got a chance to draw my DGM OC. The roleplay was filled with basically Allen and Kanda based weapons . And everyone's family was killed by the earl/ or turned into akumas. I just quit. '~'

It's gotten a bit better now though - in fact, there's a great RP group that just opened, #DGray-Roleplay . They've got a lot of guides and stuff that have helped out with both OC creation and rping OCs :>
