Alternate Harpy species design.

Behaviour: Much like their more aggressive relatives , these harpies share a rather fearsome stance towards outsiders, although they are a lot more docile and tend only to show anger towards threats rather than everything that comes close to them. They are cautious and very attentive when other creatures roam within their boundaries.

This breed of harpy does not have a spoken language, it isn't known whether they can learn to speak the common language of their world but they have been known to show understanding in long past encounters.

They are dominantly nocturnal.

Physical traits: Incredibly muscular and sturdy builds, they are much larger than the screeching harpies, their plumage is dominantly pale and speckled, they aren't known for having bright colours and their feathers fall much sleeker rather than puffy.
Much of their traits are similar to the screeching harpies, they are just a bit more elegant and less gangly looking.

Outsiders would often have a hard time distinguishing their genders, outwardly they tend to look very similar.

Culture/Community: They keep to themselves much like their screeching relatives, only for different reasons. They do not like to mingle with other species, they hold sort of the same cultural stance as the mainland elves, where they do not like to mix bloodlines and like to keep their kind rather pure. They are strongly opposed to interspecies and interracial relationships.

Because they are so exclusive from the world, no one really sees them any more, it is common thought that they died out a long time ago, although sometimes people will have claimed to have seen one here and there.

Diet: They are carnivorous but they tend to feed on small animals rather than children or fauns like their screeching brethren. They are not scavengers and are a lot more dignified. They only take what they have to, never killing for fun.
