Tumblr Twitter Facebook Print Shop Art StationYep, kind of a slowpoke here, But I saw the Sun/Moon news the other day. The owl seems like a homie, pretty neutral towards the cat, but that goddamn seal is the worst. It's name is popplio or something but whenever i try to remember what its name is, all I end up with is polio. Anyways I decided to do "realistic" interpretations for these guys and it was pretty fun. I really wanted to base popplio off of an elephant seal crossed in some horrifying way with a leaf nosed bat, but I figured it would be too much for a 1st stage babymon (hopes are up for his evolution line going in that direction). So instead he's a little sea lion with a big ugly pink 1 nostril weird nose that he can blow mucus bubbles out of, since he is supposed to be able to produce big bouncy durable bubbles out of his schnoz. Rowlet is a mix of a tropical fruit eating bird with a tiny owl, and litten is.... well, a kitten. Wanted to make him pretty fluffy since he's supposed to cough up combustible hairballs - the more fur the more ammunition.
Anyways I believe I'm a Rowlet man myself. Which one will you guys be picking?

Yeah I mean its a pretty similar concept. Popplio is supposed to be able to blow big bubbles out of its nose that are durable enough for it to bounce on with its full body weight, and to trap things inside of them. Since these are realistic takes on these guys, I designed his nose in such a way for that to be plausible - a specialized one nostril (think, literally, like a bubble wand) concave, soft, fleshy nose that can expand and contract to control the shape and size of the bubbles, which consist of a special thick mucus secreted from glands in the nasal canal.
So yeah, basically Popplio is a gross buttface who blows bubbles with his face ass. That naturally looks like a clown. Why don't people like this thing again?

Yeah the only people I know personally that have vouched for the seal being the best are hipsters, and they openly acknowledge being hipsters. The owl is the only one that has a rotation feature , so I don't see how anyone could settle for less.

A lot of people can't stand clowns or anything that has to do with them, so I'd have to guess that's probably the source of a ton of the hate haha. I'm sure popplio has a lovely personality and everything but, he just can't spin in a circle like rowlet can. Gotta go with the rotating owl.

Thank you! Being the dumb pokehipster that I am, I might also end up going with popplio by the time the game comes out. He's got more than a few months to end up growing on me so we'll see what happens, haha.
