Description In an Underground Facility in "Tracy construction and Aerospace" a top secret project is underway, the story being a revolutionary mass troop transporter for the World Air Force dubbed "Behemoth".
A project commissioned by the man himself, Jeff Tracy and designed by a brilliant young, yet unknown scientist, maximum security with only a select few allowed into the construction hanger.

In a surprise move before final retrofitting could be completed the project was halted citing a lack of interest from the WAF. As Jeff Tracy went into sudden retirement the Behemoth design, amongst others was scrapped with the unfinished plane being sent off to be cannibalised... or so they thought.

Considering my stingray picture went down well, i decided to do one for TB2 based off the Star Trek XI Teaser trailer, hope you guys like it

Also this time i took a time-lapse of my second day working on the image using all the test renders I made over the project. [link]
So you can kind of get inside my head and see all my lazy, lazy thought processes. If you like the idea i might do more of the start.

UPDATE: Now featured amongst other new images in, The Haynes Thunderbirds Manual. [link]

Like how Batman's Tumbler was built from a Wayne Industries cancelled prototype.

This should be something in a future flashback episode; seeing the Thunderbirds being built!

Clever idea with the constructions taking place in other organizations!

Interesting concepts. If the new tv series wants to go off on a less rescue/saving-the-day approach in future episodes, they could have a plot line of an investigator or theorist who starts unraveling the Tracy's building operations and the history behind the Thunderbirds construction. I like your idea that IR could not simply build and conceal these new giant vehicles simply out of one mans back pocket and needed to "acquire" them from other organisations rather than build them themselves.

I bought that Haynes manual for my dad about a week ago, and this was one of the first pictures to make me pause and say "Wow, look at THAT!" I really love "under construction" and behind-the-scenes kind of stuff. And here I found your DeviantArt page by random luck. I'm so glad i did! You do great work!

Congrats on having this printed in the manual! It caught my eye when I bought the book and all I could think was that it revealed in an episode of the CG version of Captain Scarlet that I hadn't seen. Now I know better.

Thing I love about this picture and your video on YouTube is that it makes Thunderbird 2 so realistic during her construction.

This is one of my favorite images of yours

Cheers, THis one was a blast to do. Was quite lucky it ended up in the manual too. They saw it and liked it while all the other ones i did where commissioned.

And that vid is how much it takes for you to make these pictures? Wow.

And I can see two little figures on the railing. How cute :3

Cheers In my defence that was just the 2nd day, all the hard work had been done building TB2 and taking the panels off

I was going to add more people then i realised that the cockpits nearly twice the scale of the rest of the craft

Man, this one is REALLY neat and inspirational. It's WAY cooler than the Trek teaser trailer!!! It's great to see an old favorite design as we've never really seen it before.

This is an amazing picture. Thunderbird 2 is my most favourite out of the thunderbird craft. I think it would also make for a good comic.

Chrisofedf In reply to Florgeysteve [2012-02-07 00:32:03 +0000 UTC]

Thanks, alot of the inspiration (and the Tracy Construction and Aero space) came from a continuing comic that was published in the 90's fleet-way thunderbirds comics called "The story of Thunderbirds") its really good
