oh i do love truffles, it is easy to get them over wet though so if you do make sure you keep on tasting and feeling it until it seems right.

hehe i love that icon too, i keep meaning to change it back lol

Tasting and feeling? I practically eat half of everything I do before it's ready so thanks for the advice, I will definitely follow it

lol it's okay if you keep that one, I like it too!

yumm
Interesting way to make these! I have made the cake pops with premade cake and creme cheese icing, but they always came out to wet.

it is easily done, i still have that problem now and again when i do them in a rush. you have to keep a very close eye on them when adding the cream cheese and do it very, very gradually, keep tasting and feeling the texture as different types of cakes and cookies soak in different amounts of the cheese and at different rates so how much you need always varies. hope this helps.

I may have to buy a food processor. That might be why my truffles didn't turn out.

claremanson In reply to SirenRayn [2012-01-14 16:20:58 +0000 UTC]

i have made them by hand up until now, just keep taste testing as you go and as soon as you can roll them easily but not sticky into balls they should be fine

SirenRayn In reply to claremanson [2012-01-14 16:31:12 +0000 UTC]

mine were too sticky the three times I tried. I did different ways and they still didn't like me.

in the week out of the 4 times i made truffles, one came out too wet, it is easily done, i was rushing so added too much cream cheese at once, take it slowly next time

...Guess what I'm gonna make soon?

Would it work with home made biscuits? Or should I attempt to steal my brother's bourbons..? >_>

i don't see why it wouldn't work, better still make both kinds so then you have some variety, i do that a lot

This is delightfully easy! I always imagined truffles as incredibly fancy and of course complex to make. I'm very tempted to try to make some at some time now!

claremanson In reply to Doodlebotbop [2012-01-09 16:05:38 +0000 UTC]

i always thought that too until i looked into it. i make truffles a lot and i love the experiment with different flavours and toppings with anything i have lying around my kitchen and once you get the hang of making them, it takes no time at all

Definitely on my list of things to make next Christmas or for another special occasion! I made fudge for the first time this last month, not as complicated as I'd always imagined.

i made fudge for the first time before christmas, i misread the recipe the first time i made it but once i realized my mistake it really is easy

I used almond extract instead of vanilla because I couldn't find it first batch and it was with walnuts and mini marshmallows for rocky road fudge and it was super good.

claremanson In reply to Doodlebotbop [2012-01-10 07:38:13 +0000 UTC]

no idea as we do not have graham crackers but in every recipe that calls for one or the other that is the closest alternative you can get
