Description
Many people have asked me a lot of questions on how I craft my sculptures and because just writing about it isn't very satisfying many have also asked me to make a tutorial. Well, here it is! I hope it will help some people and answer some questions. This is part one of the tutorial. I actually just wanted to make one single big tutorial, but that would have been waaay too long, so I made multiple parts out of it.Not much more to say about this, tutorials are kinda self-explanatory.

Well, I usually buy it on the internet, but oddly only the German stores seem to have it.

Well, it's not cool because it's German, but because it's really great to work with.

Wow Finally a Tutorial! I never knew that all you used for your work was a pocket knife... never thought of it myself

Really, your hand and a pocket knife is all you need to craft even the most complex of sculptures.

Thank you! This is very good. You're right, you almost don't even need to put words along with the pictures. It's easy to understand what you're doing even without them

Haha, sometimes I also use my nails because they're better on some occasions, but most of the time the knife is my tool of choice.

I'll see if I can find a good knife, maybe that'll give me a better shape management.

I recommend a dull knife, it gives you much better control than a sharp one.

does the colored clay take alcohol to smooth out the fingerprints, or will the color run?

ClayPita In reply to VIIStar [2013-04-08 18:52:10 +0000 UTC]
Huh, I've never tried that. But so far I've never felt the need to smooth it further.
