Go to the themes .theme files, right click and edit with a text editor(sublime,notepad++), edit the path to the visuall style's msstyles file and Save. Then click the theme to activate.

with your .theme files you will have to edit them to point to the new location, I used notepad++ and dumped all my .theme files in aside from the default aero.theme theme1.theme and theme2.theme into notepad++
Then you need to use the replace tool
Replace "Resources\Themes" with "Resources\Themes\aero\aerolite.msstyles"
Use the replace all in all open documents
Now open the personalization menu and select your theme.
For more detailed info and help see my thread on Virtual Customs virtualcustoms.net/showthread.…

Do I have to use the replace-tool? Or can I change the path within the *.theme manually?
Can you link the 'replace tool'? I didn't find it even on 'Virtual Customs'.

The replace tool is part of notepad++, open the theme file in notepad then highlight the text Resources\Themes in any part of the text, then click on the find (binoculars) tool in the toolbar, the selected text will be automatically entered in Find what, then click on the Replace tab in the Find tool, then where is says Replace with enter Resources\Themes\aero\aerolite.msstyles then click on the button that says Replace all in all opened documents now save your theme files and it should work.

How to change the name of the msstyle? Taking ownership doesn't work here. Changing the rights doesn't work either. And moving the file to anaother folder to change the name is impossible. What can I do?

What I did was take ownership of the entire theme folder and then right click and select properties and make sure read only is unchecked, then you should be able to rename it.

Thanks for your help. Rename and all the rest worked.
But something did I do wrong. The theme doesn't change the windows-frame.
Perhaps it is the path?
e.g.
Path=%SystemRoot%\resources\themes\aero\aerolite.msstyles\Plainx\Plainx.msstyles

As far as I can tell, UxStyle appears to be unnecessary. In fact, it is not even compatible with the November update of Windows 10, as described on its github page: github.com/riverar/uxstyle/iss…
I have themes working in Windows 10 November update without UxStyle, I just use the patched .dll files. I apply the themes using Winaero's Personalization Panel for Windows 10 (winaero.com/comment.php?commen… ) because explorer.exe otherwise crashes when loading Windows's personalization window (but themes still work)

Will this work with version 10586.11? I have tried it with 10586.3 but my screen keeps flashing black and white so I had to restore back. ;~;

I figured it out but the only issue is well.. it's two things.
First one is, well.. things are blue. i.imgur.com/yOtbiJ0.png
Second is certain items are still white or grey. i.imgur.com/juKFDD0.png

If you still don't update to 1511, remember this:
- Remove SD Card to avoid installation stucking on 44%.
Good luck

So I have two folders: File Patch x86 and File Patch x64. From which one I get the files to put on System32 folder?
👍: 0 ⏩: 2
Reichsmarshall In reply to RenanRossi [2015-11-18 00:19:00 +0000 UTC]
x86 is for if you're using a 32bit OS, x64 is for if you're using a 64bit OS. if you're unsure which, open your 'my computer' in explorer, right click, properties. likeso prntscr.com/93z77s it'll say if it's 64 bit. simpler way to test, if you have 4gb ram or greater, and the system actually recognises it, you're on 64bit. 32 bit non-enterprise releases of windows have always been artificially limited to only being able to address/recognise 3.5gb of ram.

if you use windows 32 bit - you copy file in File Patch x86 to System32
if you use windows 64 bit - you copy file in File Patch x64 to System32
