We review a submitted image and look at several ways to handle the issues. Topics discussed include hard edges from masks, merging tones, color schemes and dark/light interplay.

Oh wow,
this is so much more than I could've hoped for.
Thank you so much, I learned a ton from this.

Tbh, I was kinda in a rut lately, and when I saw you did this video, it gave me
so much motivation and sparked me up again.
Also I got some more attention on my profile and made some new friends thanks to you.

I really appreciate you doing this, thank you again!

Wow, I am amazed. I heard overpaints are as underappreciated as helpful they are, but you've shown what a great learning method they are. I learned a lot. Normally I'd defend the more clean looking armor look (except the armor sticking to the breast, of course), but you've shown me that rougher strokes do indeed look better. I have no idea how you did it. Magic.

You sound like a professional. You have a lot to say, you talk about it convincingly and in an interesting manner, you get to the point quickly. You remember to switch between image versions to make your point more clear. You do a really great job.

Thank you so much for this tutorial!

I advise EVERYONE who comes across this to watch it. It's more than worth your time!

Reviews like this are as precious as gold.
I wonder, is it possible to have one's piece reviewed like this, or was this some special occasion where you're reviewing -for example- a friend's artwork publicly?
If there is some sort of contest, waiting list or way of having such a great review from you, it would be invaluable...

No special occasion or contest, just link an image in a post and say you're submitting it to be considered for a review. I keep a list of submitted images and when I have time I find one that would spark some good talking points.

Thank you! You're very kind.
I should submit here I suppose: paintover.deviantart.com/ is it right?
But I'm not sure which picture I'd like to submit. Would it be too much to invite you to kindly take a look at my gallery and see if anything draws your interest? I tend to diversify my style a bit so I don't know if all of my art would be good for a review or paintover or if only specific techniques would be appropriate. But I wouldn't want to waste your time...
