I love the shot, because the bird can almost not be seen within the havoc of my unpruned garden, the very neglect for which he chose it as his home. When it comes to habitat for wild creatures, I am an anarchist. My small city plot is a refuge for countless species, and the bane of my civilized neighbors. But like Audubon, I "prefer the feathered race."
