I like photos like these wherein we can catch a glimpse of how these little critters really feel.
Chirp seems to be pretending to be prideful and standoffish, but is actually a very awkward and very unphotogenic kind of bird from the way he looks at the camera.
His photograph here really shows off how beautiful he actually is.

My gosh yes. I just try to take a few experimental photos when I'm walking the dog or fishing. I only got my camera to take pictures of my furs originally. Now I'm finding I like the challenge of photography.

Rene, it is a harsh country with temps over a 100 as average in summer, winter is cold but no snow, there are few trees here of your variety. I have never seen a cardinal here, but in my home state of West Virginia. It is a whole different life here, be prepared and think about it, yes it is warm too warm , I have been here 12 years an I always leave in the summer. As I grow older the heat really has started bothering me. Wishing you an Nana the best of luck and Happy New Year to you!!

Hi, Billy. I've been offline for a while, hanging out with the grand-kids at Christmas, but now I'm back at it with my birds. This one, an old friend, is mottled this winter, perhaps because of the drought, which nearly did him in. Cardinal red is hard color for the censor to handle, especially with a good lens, but I think this came out OK, after averaging about six exposure adjustments. Strangely, my work with black and white has had an impact on what I like in a color composition. I like the colors in this file, so I'll probably make a print. Hope all is well.
