I like this version better than the full coloured one, the crane's shadows aren't as distracting.

i don't know what all the critisizme is about, i think it is perfect and if you changed it you would mess it up. (is that critisism? )

why, thank you.
There are a few very small things that bother me about this piece, but they're minor, and it would be difficult to rephotograph... overall I quite like it.

I the origami swans are the Problem for me. They are colored and so detailed, also they have a strong symbolic meaning. That makes them kitschy for me. Its not subtle enough. And the nail polish bothers me...

Hahahah, you're the first one to notice the nail polish! You get a cookie. (It was digitally done. I wanted to see if anyone commented on it.)
And actually, they're cranes, not swans. They symbolize peace (as opposed to love; I think that's what swans symbolize). The symbolism is actually the intention here, hence the title of the piece. Thanks for the response.

Holy wow! Thank you SO much! I don't believe I've ever been featured before (without knowing about it in advance, I mean).
No wonder I've got 19 messages since last time I checked the message center (this morning).

Lol, glad I could help. Although we can't say all of those are from people who saw my journal.

I think i like the more coloured version better. Which is odd. Usually i'd like the b&w better.. hmm....

more people seemed to like this one on my other account, which is why it got posted here......
I like the shadow colours in the colour version. Blues and yellows.

Hmm... kitschy is usually a bad thing, so what is it that makes it kitschy? (Is it the combination of colours with the b&w, because I know that's pretty cliche, which is why I had an alternate version...) or is it something else? I'd like tips on how to improve it.
Thanks.

Hehe love the idea..would be a bit better with the last (top) crane make it more nocably purple at the moment it's a bit close to the blue but great work though

Yeah, I noticed that when I was photoediting it, and I decided to leave it the colour it had turned out in the photo rather than messing with it (I did brighten the green a bit because it was too dull)... but I think I'll give it some more red tones now, thanks.
