Description It has been mentioned for the longest time and now it has finally arrived. I have the pleasure to present to you all the work of a more than a year. No doubt one of my most testing works as it is 36cms by 41cms and features 39 different colours. I hope that all my watchers feel the wait was worth it as Cross Stitch is not a quick art form as it would like telling a photographer to put together one of their pieces, pixel by pixel. Cross Stitch will always be a labour of love and I live in the hope that more younger people take up this art form rather than feeling it is something that only the elderly ladies perform.

I found it quite difficult to name this piece as there is a certain serenity about it many names were considered but I hope this one will suit. Anyhow enjoy.

Only whole stitches so all the detail is made out of sheer size and colour.

ItΒ΄s breath-taking. The shadows and the colouring...everything is so natural. And mysterious.

found this on *Katjakay 's journal. I love cross stitching and this is beautiful. I'm only 20 and I've been cross stitching since I was 14 so I see what you mean by people thinking its like for elder ladies lol. And I love how you put it compared to a photographer constructing a photo one pixel at a time, so poetic in a way

Thank you for your kind comments. It always warms me to hear that there are more Cross Stitchers out in the world. On the Deviantart front we plan to create a club as soon as gets a moment to construct us a id and icon. It will be very super indeed.

I cross stitch in a weird way though. Right hand people you know usually go bottom left to top and across then go back bottom right to top left. But left hand people usually do the opposite. I use my left hand to cross stitch though I am right handed, and I do it the way a right handed person would with my left hand. I can not use my right hand to cross-stitch, I struggle to find the holes and to do it correctly but with my left hand I have no problem doing it. Its strange. Feel free to invite me to the club. I have photos of my cross-stitches, well some of them, in my scraps on here

To be honest I've never thought too deeply about how I cross stitch. I start from the middle and work towards to the top left corner as I don't want to smudge my pencil across my hand as I mark the chart. Then move towards the right and work in the same order from the base. I must say it is talented to be able to use a different hand to stitch with from your dominate hand. I'm a righty in all ways and my left hand is useless despite the fact I tried to train it when I was playing Badminton competitively.

But yes, I will I let you know when we have the Cross Stitching community up and running. Just waiting for an id and avatar and we'll be set.

This came out beautifully. I've tried cross stitching before, and I liked it a lot, but I don't really have the patience for big things, or the time which is a shame.

I like this a lot nice job

Thank you for kind comments. It takes a while to build the patience and time is unfortunately a horrible limitation. Wish I had more of it and better eye sight.

Cross Stitching is something that requires patience. However if you are curious how it all works a detailed tutorial can be found here - [link]

Ha ha ha, love the opening statement and very you. Thank you for your kind words it is greatly appreciated. It is always a nice bit of motivation especially since I'm working on an even bigger piece at the moment. 12 panels rather than the nine on this one, so it should pop up in about a year's time.

Thank you for your kind words. I have to say very few people have ever received the large Cross Stitches like this one as they generally take me a year to complete however I'm quite happy to do smaller ones for people.

I'm currently working on another project with a similar sort of subject which should appear in another year. But I can't mention much more because it is top secret. I have dubbed it 'Project Slowpoke.' So if you are curious feel free to pop back then.
