I took this photograph this morning while my Border Collie, Xing Xing was captivated by the lawn mower outside. She isn't looking 100% having just been out of Vet Hospital for a week where she was being treated for Immune-Mediated Thrombocytopaenia (basically her immune system in destorying her platelets which causes her to bleed under the skin, in her mouth and her nose). So you'll have to look past the shaved fur, the panting and the yellow teeth to just appreciate her as the lovely natured gorgeous dog she is.

Note: Since this photograph was taken Xing Xing relapsed and passed into the next world on the morning of the 8th of May 2006.

It is much to regret as she was a beautiful soul and has been with me through so much. But it was a decision that had to be made as in her final days, as she was barely able to walk and ate very little and thus I knew it was the end.

She goes to a better place, which I hope has much cheese, vegetables, meat, birds to play with, and endless areas to explore. A place where she will be well again and float over the landscape … truly a Red and White Border Collie in full stride is a breath taking sight.

She was a lady till the end, in my eyes a Border Collie without peer. I shall miss her dearly. Adieu my beautiful Xing Xing, continue to shine and perhaps we’ll meet again some day. Not in this place, but another place.
