I finally got this picture done for a trade with:Sorry about the delay, but College got in the way.
Here's Aika from Skies of Arcadia, and if you haven't played that game then shame on you. For some odd reason the end result of this picture reminds me slighty of the art style of Ian-Jones Quartey, or better known to some of you as the creator of RPG World . Anyways, I really like this picture. Someone once complained that almost all of my drawings look unhappy, well you definitely can't say that about this one.

I saved a copy of it (just for personal viewing of course) back in 2006. That was 6 years before I joined DA.

If not DA, then where did you find the picture back in 2006? To my knowledge, I've only ever submitted my artwork to Deviantart and Newgrounds (and I don't believe Newground's art portal existed yet back in 2006). Either way, I'm glad the image made enough of an impression that you never forgot it.

It looks to me like she is driving Noah's ark. Lol.
She's pretty. But she seems more american comic cartoonie than anime to me. I think it is because of her eyes. To fix the eyes, I would suggest that you not fill in the sea green space. The pupils usually stay in the middle of the iris (is that what it is?).
There is also the fact that the breasts seem to me to be a little too high. If you want to do a quick fix, maybe you could put a corset around her waist or something.
There is light coming from the window, yes? If there is no window beyond the window, there should be a very dark space farthest from the window. So, therefore, I think that you shoiuld get rid of that shadow beneath her, and reverse the shading on her. That is, next time you do something like this.
Overall, this is pretty. It is now reminding me of a video game.

.... its an interesting picture... i dont personally like happy things, but i'll try not to let that get in the way...
+ i dont like how the lines are all the same width, unless you do it a certain way, that can look very unnatural - try a little line variation.
+ the shadows look off
+ the perspective is also off.
+ i also think that its always beneficial to study human anatomy no matter what level artist you are. the coloring is pretty good tho.

You're not the first person to make special note of the boots. I didn't think the boots were the highlight of the picture, but many others seem to think otherwise. So, eh, what do I know?

Thanks, I thank all together I put around over 12 hours of work into that picture. I'm glad you enjoyed it, now I won't have to spork you to death. Sadly, this still leaves me with one more trade that's been much delayed, as well as the 1k gift pic.

Aika has a really weird Glove that has a lot of padding in it that is just plain huge, and she only has one of them.

The smoothness is easy to obtain in the program I use. You've probably heard of it before, but didn't think it could be used this way. I do all of my inking and coloring in Macromedia Flash (yes, the animation software).
