Description
hello everyone, I made this marble as an example of using my tiling script [link] and as an example of how to make a marble [link]I have fully annotated my tiling script so that every line has a layman's terms for what each line is supposed to do to give you a better understanding of how to create your own scripts. This link to the script for downloading is above and a link to the tutorial on making marbles is above.
Now for the why:
Once you have discovered that particular special fractal style you like to create you soon find that most of the creation of that fractal is repetitive. This is a good place to write a script. Once you have determined what is always the same about each fractal of that style you can then start writing instructions in a script to do all that for you. With the use of variables (changeable values within the script) you can start adding randomness to your script that will allow for different results each time you run the script.
Some scripts like my tiling script will always provide the exact same results each and every time as it is just creating a base to work with or tiling a subject you have already created.
In the above rendering I created what I thought was a cool base rendering to start off with then I applied the tiling script to that. After that I then applied my marble tutorial to the flame and thus the results above.
The parameters for the image above are available thru the download button so that you can see what I did from step one to step three.

Very cool Dave! One of these days when life calms down and I can focus, I'm going to have to work on learning some things about script writing! Nice of you to share this!
