Description
One thing I have NOT been able to do and that you must do in order to use this script is to:this is the one thing I was not able to figure out how to do within the script if you know how to create a new directory without getting an error from windows please let me know and I will add it to the script.
**UPDATE**
You can now control the number of frames you want to render at, and the render file format.
a couple examples to see what it does can be found at these [link] and [link] and [link]

How do I go about creating something like this. I downloaded the zip file of the script but now I have no idea where to go from there. Do I start with one fractal made from the script? OK if I do that I get several images but then how do I get them to connect and move, Lost in space, as usual,

first create the image in apophysis, then run the script to get many many images, then you need to use a program like photoshop or Gimp to put them together in layers as one image in the order noted by the file name, example 1 to 100, then save the image as an animated gif.

It looks marvelous. My question is which animation program do I use to load the frames? I have a beautiful marble but no experience with animation.

cmptrwhz In reply to Kabuchan [2008-01-23 13:13:46 +0000 UTC]
The free choose would be The Gimp. Just load the frames into one document in their numbered order for each frame and then save as a gif file, animated. there are loads of how to tutorials for animation work for The Gimp. Photoshop can be used also but it is a bit more involved to do.

Thanks for your reply. I am going to try Animation Shop 3, as I have a bad relationship with GIMP. It hates me! LOL

This is fantastic...... I dabble in animation and have recently done some fractal animation.... I usually have to cut out various bits of fractals in one programme then put them in my animation programme (toon boom studio) this is going to make it a lot easyer....im just trying it out now.....
I have a question........... please excuse me if i sound ignorant...... do you have to render each one separately to save as a frame or can you save the whole lot at once ???? at the moment im rendering each one individually and transferring them into toon boom.... ??? hope you understand me
thanks again for this ....

cmptrwhz In reply to cazzart [2008-01-14 14:43:01 +0000 UTC]
I understand, I wish we could render as a gif. but at this time the script renders each frame and then you need to load all the frames into an animation program and then save it. Let me know what you have made as I would love to see it.

Thank you for your reply
No matter what kind of flame I try with the 3d Hack I get a runtime error as soon as the script has made the 100 files and should start the actual rendering. It says something about being unable to create the file because the system can't find the path when evaluating instruction "CallProc ($ED64B0,$0,$ED6820,'Render'. Stack content is: [], Source position: 63,9.
I have made a folder called "Renderings" as mentioned in the instructions.

I am sorry but I have not been able to re-create this error except if I remove the renderings directory from within the apophysis folder. I will try some more but I just wanted to update you on what I have discovered so far.

baba49 In reply to cmptrwhz [2008-01-10 16:57:25 +0000 UTC]
Yes that what cause the error here. I had the "Renderings" in the Apophysis main folder where as I keep the 3D Hack and plugins I assigned to it in a subfolder. Since I made an extra "Renderings" folder for the 3dHack to keep in its subfolder the error has gone.
Regards,
baba

Please disregard my above comment. I think I know now why I got the error (I keep the 3d hack exe in a subfolder and had the "renderings" folder outside the subfolder). Sorry.

what program do you put the 'slides' together with?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
cmptrwhz In reply to ladydetemps [2007-12-06 14:02:14 +0000 UTC]
The Gimp, it is free and really easy to understand how to use for animation. I haven't figured out how to properly use photoshop's optimization of animations yet. Just open the first numbered image, then add a layer, then open the next image and copy paste that into the first image onto the new layer. Once you have moved all the images into one layered document you then need to run the animation optimization option which will erase the "extra pixels" reducing the file size, then save as an animated gif using the combine frames option for frame disposal.

Do you mean make a new file in the APO program? If not then help??? Thanks for doing this. I enjoyed the one you showed.

within your apophysis folder that holds the apophysis program you use you need to right click on the background area with your mouse and choose new then choose folder, now name the new folder renderings. Your done.

if you installed it using the installation program that comes with apophysis 2.02 then it can be found here:
c:\program files\apophysis

Ok, I did that. So do I download and save this into the Renderings folder? Sorry to be such a dull pain in the rear!

cmptrwhz In reply to purple-whirlpool [2007-12-05 17:36:49 +0000 UTC]
you download this script, unzip it with like winzip or the windows extraction program it has built in, copy the file 'animateit.asc' into your apophysis scripts folder and then open apophysis. Now open the script menu option then choose open script and find the animateit.asc script within the list of scripts you have and choose it.
Remember you need to make a marble image before you run this script on it. This won't create the marble it just animates it. I have a small tutorial on how to make marbles within my journal if needed.
