Hey guys, Cobalt here! Backed by popular demand, I thought I might make a base tutorial of my own, just to show y'all the trouble I go to to make quality bases for you to use. :3The programs I use in this tutorial are Paint Tool SAI, Microsoft Paint, and GIMP 2.8.
Paint Tool SAI is not a free program, and according to the Wikipedia article, here's the official site: systemax.jp/en/sai/ GIMP 2.8 can be obtained from this website, and it is 100% free: www.gimp.org/ Microsoft Paint comes with every Windows computer.Keep in mind you can do this with any variety of programs. These are just the ones I use. ^^

Once you've outlined the pony in the six colors I mentioned, and convert the image to a 16 color bitmap (.bmp) in MS Paint, the background colors are easily removed by bringing it into GIMP. The process is explained in the previous part of this tutorial. See the description.
