Description "MOCHA! I said knock it off!!" Rudo yelled at his little sister's Coatala who has been continuously knocking items off of the shelves over the past half an hour. From books to vases, the Coatala receives great amusement from watching him catch the falling items that she pushes over. Naturally Kilganon is usually there to assist him with the Coatala's antics. But because he's out on an errand with Hershey tagging along with him, he's stuck trying to keep things from falling into chaos...

"Ugh!!" he groaned in frustration as he hastily puts the items back into their respective places. "Why must you always do this?" Rudo shoots a glare at Mocha who is resting on one of the shelves, watching with a smug grin. "You do this everytime when mother and Hershey are not around!! My brother and I always have to keep you from breaking things in this house! It's almost as if you enjoy watching us suffer!"

The Coatala placed a paw over her mouth, almost as if she was trying to hold back from snickering. Rudo was about to add another comment until he heard the front door open. "Oh! Either Kil and Hershey are back or mother's home" before he could go, he quickly turned around and gave Mocha a firm stare. "DON'T. Touch. Anything." He kept his gaze on her until he was completely out of the room.

"Crazy Coatala... I outta show her a thing or two..." He grumbled as he made his way to the front door. He poked his head around the corner only to see that it was Jane whom was home.

"Mother!!" He cheerfully chimed, running up and giving her a hug from behind.

"Oh-! Goodness!!" His sudden embrace caught her off guard almost making her lose balance and nearly dropping something she's holding in her arms. "Heheh... Nice to see you too, Ru." As soon as Rudo released her, Jane turned around and gave him a quick boop on his forehead. Rudo slightly blushed from her affection before noticing the items in her arms.

"What do you have there?"

"Oh, these? They're just marshmallows I decided to pick up on the way." She holds up the bags to show him. "I'm going to make an attempt at practicing fire magic. Melting these should be a good way to continue with that."

"Continue?" He titled his head. "You mean you've attempted fire magic before?"

"Well yes, but it wasn't unitl I was pregnant with Hershey and after she hatched was when I felt a sudden increase in body temperature. Figured it might've been the fact that I was unconsciously attempting it for the first time. So I thought 'why not give it a try?' it could come in handy. That, and there's another reason..." Jane looked away with a thoughtful gaze while setting down the bags of marshmallows.

Rudo curiously raised a brow. He wanted to know more about what she was going to say. "Whaaaat's the reason?" He playfully poked at her shoulder until he got an answer. "C'mooon, mother. Tell me! Tell me! Tell me!"

"Alright, alright!" She chuckled as she poked back at him to get him to stop. "The other reason is... well..." she rubbed her arm in an awkward manner when she paused, "...I thought it'd be fun that if I successfully learn it, Kid and I could possibly goof off with each other playing with fire if we wanted to. S-Safely, of course. We don't want any problems causing an accidental fire after all. That wouldn't look good for both of us..."

Hearing that name was all it took for a shift in Rudo's mood. Likewise, he tried not to show it. "Ah. Right. I... tend to forget that you and him have reconciled." There was a seemingly lack of emotion in his tone as soon as he spoke. But that particular tone was recognizeable to Jane's ears. It's the exact tone he always spoke in any time she brought up Kid. Even after the intense heartache he caused for her, she'd sometimes speak his name.

"Rudo, dear. I recognize that tone, you know." Jane's brows began to furrow. Ever since what Kid did years back she knew both of her sons grew a seething hatred towards him, if not resentful for what he did to her. It made her worry to some extent due to how she would at times walk by the boy's room and hear them speak horrible things about him...

Rudo let out an irritable sigh and avoided Jane's eyes. "I don't know what you're talking about." He brushed away her claims for his sudden shift in behavior. He should've known that she would catch on to it. Now that she has, the mood will drastically change if he doesn't try to find some way to avoid it. "I should probably go check on Mocha. Gotta make sure she's not clawing on any of the furniture." He attempted to use this as an excuse to leave the room before the mood was about get dragged into a discussion.

"No, Rudo." It was too late. It was likely going to turn into a discussion.

"Rudo. Turn around. Right now." There was a mix of calm but sterness in her voice. Rudo took a breath and turned to face her. "Mother... There's no need to discuss this-"

"I believe there is" she added with a sharper tone in her voice while still remaining calm. She sighed and continued, "Listen, dear. I know you and your brother are not fond of Kid...-"

"And can you absolutely blame us" Rudo restrained himself from raising his tone of voice at Jane. Bringing up Kid was always enough to make him feel heated in a conversation.

"Rudo... Kid sincerely regrets for what he did back then, and I-"

"Forgave him? Even after all the pain he had no freakin' idea he put you through? And even if he repeated what he's done before, I'm assuming you'd still forgive him for that as well? Even if he doesn't deserve it to begin with."

The room fell into a long moment of silence afterwards. Jane's ears fell back hearing the filled resentment in his voice. Even though she knew she was going to have to have this type of discussion with one of her sons, she still did not know how to approach this knowing that they harbor a grudge against him.

"He... caused so, so much pain to you" Rudo continued, "Not a day goes by where I don't recall how upset you were when you came home that day. The nights where you cried almost endlessly. How often you struggled to get out of bed each day. The days where you had a difficult time motivating yourself to do anything to a degree where Kil and I took the liberty to handle all of the chores for you because of the state you were in. And as if you weren't already in bad enough conditions, you were pregnant with his child and had to give it away!"

Jane felt a lump caught in her throat after his last statement. She tries so hard to forget about that. But no matter what the memory always finds a way to remind her of the most difficult decision she made that day... So many regrets that she can't take back...

"Even after all of that you..." his voice started to crack recollecting those painful and melancholic memories. "...You still want him back in your life?"

The only response Jane gave to Rudo was a nod. To which he sighed in defeat.

"Mother" he looked up at her with sorrowful eyes, "I'm not saying that I don't like your decision. All I'm saying is... Why would you want someone, whom has inflicted so much physical and emotional pain, back in to your life?"

Another long moment of silence followed. There was no answer. In fact, Jane didn't know how to answer. She missed Kid so much that there were times where her thoughts practically drove her into wanting to see him again. But at the time she knew she had to stay away... She didn't know how to give a legitimate answer to Rudo's question.

The male sighed again, scratching the back of his head feeling that he had probably said too much.

"Mother, I..." he looked at Jane who remained silent with her arms folded. Rudo's ears fell back realizing he likely went a bit too far. There was nothing he could add to lighten the mood.

He scratched his head again and sighed. "I'm... going to go see a friend for a bit." He sauntered his way up to the front door. Before he left, he looked back at Jane whom wouldn't meet his eye. "I'll probably be back around sunset. I'll try not to stay out for too long."

With that he took his leave. Leaving Jane alone in the room...

Meanwhile in the kitchen, Jane layed out bags of marshmallows on the counter while feeling a bit distracted by her thoughts from her discussion with Rudo.

'Why would you want someone, whom has inflicted so much physical and emotional pain, back in to your life?'

Those words wouldn't stop replaying in her thoughts. She faintly blushed when she held a paw to her chest. Where her heart was beating fast when she thought about Kid...

"I can't tell them the reason... Not yet."
