A little something I managed to slap together for the Future Powerpuff Girls contest by
Things have been a bit crazy and I haven't had time for art stuff much. But I just had to draw her awesome designs. I didn't have a lot of time to work on this, but I'm proud of it.

Instead of showing the girls flying around or saving the world, I wanted to have them hanging out with their dad, Professor Utonium. For whatever reason, that's what I always connected with. I mean, Utonium was such a great parent, especially since he didn't have to be a parent. A lesser man would have treated the PPG as science experements or weapons or tools (i.e. Dick Hardley). But this guy took them, took responsibility for them, housed them, fed them, loved them... it's touching, really.
It's something that I feel is missing from the reboot (among many, many other things); there's a lack of family bonding. The girls don't feel like sisters and the Professor doesn't feel like a father most of the time. What made the show (or any story for that matter) good wasn't the monsters or violence or even it's message. CHARACTERS are what makes a show memorable.
Now, as for why the PPGs are dog-piling on the Prof? I don't know. Maybe they've just gotten home from college, or maybe it's his birthday. Maybe they just wanted to give him a hug. Who doesn't love a surprise hug?
