WARNING: Spoilers for Gravity Falls season 2 episode 11.
A little something I've been working on for the last few days.
After the most recent episode, "Not What He Seems," I've seen a lot of fan theories and comics/fics that, after Mabel's refusal to turn off Stan's machine, Dipper will no longer trust her, feeling betrayed. I really hope this doesn't become the case.
First off, Dipper's not that dumb. Given that he knows the outcome of Stan's actions and his motivations for doing so, I doubt he'd be mad at Mabel afterwards. Second, with as much as he knows and loves his sister, he'd know that she wouldn't mean to "betray" him. He knows her actions come from her heart and that's something really hard to be mad at someone for. If he does end up mad and distrustful of her, I feel that would be grossly out of character. But, hey, that's just my interpretation.

Well, think about it. In sock opera, Bill really enlightened it as a way to convince him of making a deal, and Dipper thought on it with a frown on his face. Dipper HAS sacrificed a lot for Mabel, and in factly, she really hasn't done very much in return when you look at the entirety of season two and possibly the series. It might just be the last straw for Dipper.

Except that she sacrificed her puppet show and the chance to date her crush in order to stop Bill and save the book and Dipper.
Bill: "I mean, who would sacrifice everything they've worked for just for their dumb sibling?"
Mabel: "Dipper would."
And I don't see what difference it makes who sacrificed what. They've both had to make sacrifices aver the series, for many different people and many different reasons. The idea of Dipper would abandon on Mabel because "she didn't do as much stuff as he did" makes him sound really selfish.

I feel like Dipper actually would be fairly pissed, but considering all the plot surely following he'll work past it fairly quick. It would only be personal for a short time.
He would be checking if she's hurt, then when he's sure she's alright: "What were you THINKING?!" and insane tension for a while.

I've read the interview. It sounds like Dipper will be mad at Stan, which is understandable; Stan is a known con man and liar and he hide the truth of his actions from the twins. But I still doubt Dipper will turn his back on his sister.
And, yeah, this comic is pretty sappy, but I've seen a lot of fans make very "angsty/ betrayed" comics about the situation. Guess I'm just trading one extreme emotion for another.

I think Dipper will be bitter towards both Mable and Stan, but I think that the Author might talk Dipper out of being too angry. Although, the Author was the one who wrote "Trust no one", but I still feel someone will talk Dipper out of being too angry. He most likely won't trust Mable or Stan for a long time, but he will work with them.
I think the broken picture was more just the fact that Dipper won't trust Mable anymore, but he won't turn evil. He'll be angry. This'll be good for the siblings, for them to be separate, because when they ultimately get back together, then their reunion will be more tear filled and they'll be a stronger duo.

I am so sick of this nonsense theory of Dipper going all bitter on Mabel because she chose to trust someone other than him. Now that he knows Stan did it for his won twin sibling he'll definitely understand as a twin brother himself

Finally something uplifting and understanding of Dipper's character, I'm so sick of all this angsty fan art of Dipper disowning and distrusting Mabel.

I know right? I mean, I could understand if Dipper became distrustful of Stan. After all, Stan hide the truth from them and lied to them to cover his secrets. Even if it was for a good cause, it would still be understandable if Dipper no longer trusted him.
But Mabel? His twin sister who he's known his whole life and is pretty much his best friend? Doubtful.
