WARNING: Spoilers for Gravity Falls season 2 episode 11.

A little something I've been working on for the last few days.
After the most recent episode, "Not What He Seems," I've seen a lot of fan theories and comics/fics that, after Mabel's refusal to turn off Stan's machine, Dipper will no longer trust her, feeling betrayed. I really hope this doesn't become the case.
First off, Dipper's not that dumb. Given that he knows the outcome of Stan's actions and his motivations for doing so, I doubt he'd be mad at Mabel afterwards. Second, with as much as he knows and loves his sister, he'd know that she wouldn't mean to "betray" him. He knows her actions come from her heart and that's something really hard to be mad at someone for. If he does end up mad and distrustful of her, I feel that would be grossly out of character. But, hey, that's just my interpretation.

So I drew up my own little comic to counter the "trust no one" idea. After everything they've been through, Dipper is just glad to know that Mabel is okay.

Dipper also told Mabel to "listen to her head," if Dipper said, "Mabel, you have to trust me" that would've been a more obvious setup to the angst.Β Even if Dipper feels that way towards Mabel, I can only see it happening for one or two episodes max. It would make a ton more sense if Dipper was bitter and distrustful of Stan after this, and something would happen at the season/series finale that would finally get him to trust him again.

Well Hirsch and the other writers have proven to be talented enough, so no matter what direction the show goes towards I'm sure they'll make it work.
