Description Second entry into coloring book contest. Here is my (very poor) attempt at a baroque style painting. Because if its not baroque, don't fix it!
Specifically, I based the style off of the works of Caravaggio. The guy was a master of light and shadow. He also made a lot of paintings with themes of death and other morbid scenes. So when I saw this coloring page of Flynn's death, it seemed like a perfect fit.

Wow, the intense contrast gives this scene a heavier feeling of sadness than the movie O_O Love the baroque pun, good job

The pun is from Beauty and the Beast.

"If its not baroque, don't fix it"...Aaahhh, I see what you did there.
I think you did a great job, especially with the fabric and her hair. Way to go!

Hee hee... Β
Thank you! I'm really proud of how the fabric turned out actually. I'm usually not very good with textures like that.

This is beautifuly done. The light and shadow complement each other nicely. Not bad for a first try at this style.

My goodness, I love the shadows here!! So dramatic, and I like how you added the subtle glow to Rapunzel's hair.Β

You definitely achieved the light and shadow concept of Caravaggio in this piece. Β Wonderfully done, this is such a sad scene here. Β But you did a good job capturing it.

Lol, if it's not baroque don't fix it. XD Β Cogsworth said that, didn't he?

Anyway good idea matching the theme of the coloring page to an artist! Β I think you definitely achieved a lot of contrast in this image.

This was the saddest part of the movie. I feel like watching it again...
