Description
People love to draw the kits of different species, they either take the form of one or the other, but it is very rare to see a blending of the two. Arie Is one of those crossbreeds.
Arie the orphan, her mother died brining her into the world, and her father wanted nothing to do with ‘that little monster’. Her first years of memory came from her time at the orphanage, her life there was not easy. Taunted by the predators who saw her as a weakling, and feared by the herbivores who were terrified that she would go feral due to her mixed blood.
Unadopted, shunned, and left to be reared by strangers she never learned how to interact well with others, coupled with her obvious physical appearances, she often got into trouble. Working in quiet places, night jobs, and odd work that would keep her from others kept her off the streets, at least until she was assaulted returning home.
Acting in defense, she mauled several of her assailants, this victory was short lived, as she was dragged off, deemed mentally unstable and locked away.
‘A dangerous combination of mixed blood has resulted in a predatory mind locked in a body that has no way of processing these urges. If allowed to continue uncheck, she is likely to attack again, and this time her victims may not be so fortunate.’
Three years in a mental ward left her half feral, mad with grief, guilt, and a terrible sense of loneliness.
It was during the event at the Asylum when Judy and Nick uncovered the Night Howler rehabilitation facility and resulted in it being shut down, was she discovered. Originally thought to be a Night Howler victim, but after treatment failed, more concerns were raised.
Her unnatural appearance, has raised some disturbing questions about predator prey relationships.

Peering through the door reveals an empty room, contrary to the hall you were in, this one is a modern wonder, sleek black floors, glass cells with electronic readers, and several medical stations.
No personal are visible to either of you.

Once again relieved that the coast is clear,we both decide to walk in.I close the door behind us,as to not alert anyone who spot this door from outside.
Looking around the room,i'm hoping to rummage through it to find a map out of this place.

Silently Arie gives the smallest nod and begins to look around the room.
After a search of the room, no blueprints are apparent.
At the far end of this room, past several glass cells walled off another door leads out.
Arie hesitates at the cells, staring at them transfixed.
'I remember this place.' She reaches out to touch the glass, running her fingers over the small circular vent holes. 'This is the place where they test you. They, said then needed to find a cure and that I was going to help them. That I was special.'

As i look at Arie being transfixed onto the cells,my curiosity peaked at what was she talking about
''A cure?A cure for what?''

'They called it several names...Ferals, Going Savage, they said it only made predators go crazy... they wanted to know what triggered it.' Arie looks away from the glass, her head hanging as she begins a slow plod to the door not looking back. 'The-the orphanage...before they sent me away. They said I had bad blood too.'

I immediatly follow her to the exit,holding onto her lightly
''Is it a sickness of some kind?''

Arie's shoulders slump, but she manages a half shrug, clearly talking about it was discomforting.
'They, the others at the orphanage said I was sick...the White Coats said it was my blood. That it was gen-et-ic, something about being a hybrid. It scared them.'

Silently taking in what she just said,i just kneel down to her
''How about we get out of here,and worry about the details later?''

Nodding, Arie's attention seems to come back into focus. 'Later.'
Eager to leave the room she pushes through the door.
After several minutes of wandering you manage to find a glowing green sign, declaring it to be the exit.
From behind you voices sound, agitated and speaking in low whispers. '...gone...escaped cell...dangerous specimen ev...'

Worried about the voices,i grab Arie's hand and urge her to move

Arie tenses as you urge her forwards, her little feet breaking out into a run to match your longer strides.
Rounding a corner you finally locate what you seek. On the wall of a four way junction you find a fire exit map, with several exits marked. Located to its right is a glass case with a portable extinguisher, and built in fire alarm.
As you move past, Arie digs in her heals, suddenly becoming very nervous. She looks to you for guidance.
'Which way?'

Looking over the map,i try my best to memorize the pathways to an exit.After a few minutes,i grab Aries hand and point her to one of the doors.

Arie's heart races, she looks at you, and then back to the fire alarm.
In a rash decision she jumps, pulling the lever dow with all her body weight. In a heartbeat the room is filled with a wailing siren.
Arie races to your side, grasping your hand, her ears flat to try and blot out the noise.

Suprised and shocked over the wailing sounds,i cover my ears and almost wail at Arie
''Arie!!!Why did you do that???People are gonna come looking for us now!!!''

Arie's mouth opens, closes, and opens again. Her expression is a mixture of confusion and horror. 'I -I just...' her eyes are wide rimmed with tears. Giving up trying to explain, she drops her head and begins to run.

I catch up to her and almost ready to scold her,but i calm down and whisper to her
''Aire,listen - don't move away from me,otherwise you'll get caught by the labcoats again.You don't want that happening,do you?''

Visibly shaken by the thought of being taken by the White Coats. Shaking her head frantically, sending her ears flapping, she hugs your legs.
'I'm sorry.' She wails miserably, 'I just - wanted to help.'

Half running, half dragged Arie struggles to keep up. As you burst through a door a groul of mammals run past through an adjoining halfway. None seem to notice you and Arie, or if they do they are to preoccupied to care.
The sight of them is enough to cause Arie to have a miniature breakdown. Falling to the ground and covering her head in a defensive ball.

My eyes are immediatly glued to arie and i notice her breakin gdown a bit.I kneel to her and pick her up in my arms.
''It's alright Arie,i won't let anything happen to you.Just hang in there and we'll be on our way out''i whisper to her,hoping it will knock her out of her trance.

'No more needles...no more needles-I'll be good- please, no more needles.' A quick glace reveals Arie's eyes are unfocused, her gaze fixed on something in her mind. Picking her up only triggers her to ball in on herself, whimpering quietly.

I try going over the path way where all thjose mammals went,hoping to finally reach a way out

Arie's whimpering quiets but does not stop, though she puts up no resistance to being carried.
Crossing the junction the mammals that crossed before take no notice and vanish around a corner. 'We need to preserve the data!'you hear the lead call out without looking back.
Past the junction is another series of doors. To your right leads to the main doors, and proves a shorter rought.
Ahead, from the chart you glimsed, lays a security checkpoint to a secondary exit.

I try moving there as quietly as possible,not to alert anyone

Thankfully the buildings staff seem more interested in evacuating and data salvage than on two would be escapees.
It takes you several minutes, to make it to tje main doors but you do without incident.

Arie, rising from her curled position looks at thr door, at you, then in a frantic fit pulles her ears. 'No...no, no no no nooo!' She clings to your chest, claws digging into your clothing. 'Don't-I cant go back! Please, dont make me go back!'

''What?That's not the exit??''

'I -I don't know...' Arie wails, unsettled by her protectors dismay. 'They took me in a back way- I -I -I never got to s-see this much before.'

As much as i am not fond of the idea,considering this door does not lead to the exit as originally thought,the security checkpoint might be the only way out

Slowly returning to a coherent state, Arie looks around frantically. Her voice is barely a whisper.
'They are coming...'
Over the wailing of the sirens angry voices can be heard shouting, and a secomd later a second alarm fills the air.
An electronic voice sounds over the speakers, 'Breach! Breach! Security Breach!'
If it were possible, Arie's face drains of what color it had. Her arms snake around you, tightening to the point it hurts.
'No. No. No. Nooooo!'

Cradling Arie again,i move the opposite way,hoping the adjacent hallway can get us to the desired checkpoint.Otherwise....we're fucked

As you begin to run down the hall Arie begins to grab at your shirt collar, 'No-wait, we, we need to go back!' She looks frantic, 'I, we, need to go back to the cells - my cell...I know how we can get out!'

A tone of pure disbelief sounding in my voice - what is she thinking going back all the way there?

Arie cringes back, ears flattening as much as she can. 'I'm sorry.' She buries her head into your shoulder, 'I just thought She cod help.'

Arie bobs her head vigorously. 'Judy will help us, I know she will - it's what she does. She helps people...' Arie's voice is full of youthful certainty, half masked by the fear as you thunder down the hallway to the blear of sirens.

Scrunches. 'Just like the little boxes the White Coats use?'
Another junction looms ahead, over the flashing strobe light, you see a figure directing trafic to evacuate the building.

Spotting the figure,i immediatly hide out of side with Arie in my hands,waiting for the figure to go away

Whimpering Arie tries her best to stay quiet, her hands move up to grasp at your shirt tugging at the fabric with the desperation of a child.
Around you several doors are built into the wall, as you meld into the shadows, you place your back into wall next to the door labeled Custodial Staff Only. From behind you, the sound of footsteps, boots, moving in haste comes closer.

In your arms Arie begins to whimper, her claws dig into you as her little body coils like a spring.
As you press yourself to the wall, the small of your back strikes the handle of the custodial room.

As i felt the handle poking me,i turn around and spot the custodial room door
Looking both sides in hopes nobody will see us,i quickly sneak in,closing the door lightning fast behind me

The door behind you click and in the silence is sounds like a thunder clap. Just outside the door footsteps clomp up to the door and hesitate. Arie looks as though she is going to scream, grabs her ears and pulls on them like loose braids, her little jaw quivering.
Outside voices call out and more footsteps gather outside the door. Voices exchange a few words and then silence again. Looking up at you with pleading eyes, Arie's whole body begins to convulses in an uncontrolled shake. The silence presses on, and then, slowly, the footsteps move off.
