‘Are you sure about this?’ Amenii fretted, looking at the tangle of fabric and feathers. ‘I – what are people going to say when they see me?’
You mean when they see your legs, Nera mused, the investigation into the incident was classified as ongoing, but headway had yet to be made. That disappointment, coupled with the loss of her legs had shattered Amenii’s confidence.

Even after physical therapy, and hours of training with her new prosthetics she still shied away from the spot light. The loss had all but derailed her carrier as a nude model, ‘No one is going to want to draw, part of a bunny, when a whole one is available.’ She had argued, when Nera had tried to get her back into the field.

Nera knew how much modeling had meant to her, it had been her passion, before she had chosen to follow in the footsteps of Judy Hops following the Night Howler case. Seeing another bunny make a difference had moved her dramatically, enough so to embark on a carrier as an officer of the law. She had never really turned her back on modeling though, even with her chaotic schedule she had managed to find time for a class, or work with a private client on a specific set of poses.

Now, with her carrier in shambles, Amenii had reclused herself, choosing instead to walk. Nera had seen her out more and more each day, wobbling at first on her metal legs, strapped to the stumps that had once supported her padded feet.

Ubie had been keeping her busy when he could, when his R&D came up with a new model for testing she was called in.

Still, she refused to engage in any modeling seasons, Nera aimed to change that.

‘They’ll Never even notice.’ Nera responded, taking Amenii by the hand and half dragging her over to the table. ‘And even if they do, It’ll be the nothing to them.’

‘I don’t know about this.’ Amenii’s eyes were downcast, examining the rubber pads of her prosthetic. ‘What if they laugh?’

That made Nera bark, ‘Ha! Like that will happen.’ Taking Amenii’s hands in her own. ‘You, are going to be the only one they notice out there – A goddess among women. You are going to be the bane of single men, and the envy of every woman.’

The scarlet that creeped up Amenii’s face only added to her beauty. So timid, Nera thought, but she remembered the fire in her too. It just needs to be rekindled, and you’ll burn brighter than before.

‘Come on, let’s get you dressed.’ Kissing the top of Amenii’s head, she took the gowned in both hands. ‘Did you hear, Gazelle herself may even be in attendance tonight.’
