It had been several months sense the close of the Underbelly Case, still Amenii Oakwoods showed the effects.

Matted fur decorated her body, the lines under her eyes gave her the appearance that she had not slept in several days. Which was not to far from the truth.

Hands shaking she pried open the bottle, with a clatter the contents scattered across the floor. Rocking back like a ship on a tide, Amenii swayed before dropping to her knees. With fumbling fingers she tried to pick up one of the pills, only for it to fall to the floor again.

"Amenii..." A voice from the other room sounded miles distant.

She did not respond.

"Amenii." The voice came again, a touch of anger this time.

Fingers quivering, she reached for the pills again, this time abandoning all attempts to grab individual pills and instead attempted to grab a handful. Before she could raise her hands to her mouth, a large paw clamped over her own. Even with all her strength she could only cry out as fingers the size of sausages pried her hands open.

"Please..." She pleaded as the pills fell to the ground, scattering beneath her and out of reach. "Please! They hurt! Please..."

"Amenii, I'm sorry."

This is a thought that came to me, it takes place after the events revolving around the case where Amenii lost her legs. The second part of the story is going to be titled: Phantom Pain.
