Description
Sunlight streamed down from the canopy overhead, a fine mist had settled over the earthen floor muffling Sirse's footsteps. It was better that way, though it cut her visibility, it also muffled her movements and dampened her sent. the last thing she needed now was for her protector's sent to attract unwanted scavengers. What had he been thinking, trying to go toe to toe with the king of all predators on the island. Outwardly she shook her head as she used her claws to slice another leaf from a low growing bush. Inwardly, she was grateful for his crazed act of courage.
'Your going to be the death of me.' He had a habit of saying. Hoping that this was not going to be the case, she worked another leaf free, that would be enough. She had to keep him cool until the fever passed, and when she had left him his body had been in bad shape, his chest barely rising, as though the very effort of breath was to much. Heart rate was all wrong, and he could no longer seem to see her near the end.
It had been a chancy run to dart back across the road to the with the rex so close. The kit had been mounted at chest level, and it had taken all her strength to pry it out of its damaged frame. Lugging it back she was almost sure the massive dinosaur had seen her, but had not given chase as she threw herself into the underbrush. The thought of the chase still made her heart pick up a beat.
It had pained her to leave his side, but she knew if she left him in the sun to bake, the sent would attract any predators still lingering in the area. Crinkling her nose at the pungent odor of the fronds in her arms, she returned to where she had left him, hoping the anti-venom she had injected into his system had not been to late.

Quickly Sirse moves to each cylinder, extracting two of each embryo and placing it into the plastic container. Satisfied she closes the lid and secures the lid. Looking up at you, she gives you her best smile and texts out.
'Plan B.' Putting the container down on the chair, she twists in your grasp to better face you. 'I know your angry. All I can ask is that you listen, It is a dangerous thing to break a promise. I do not know what Black wants from you exactly, but I can guess. So, please trust me.'
Pulling herself up to you she presses herself you you, nipping at you neck and settling with a peck on the corner of your mouth.
'Are you read to get off this islad?'

"I am. I pray your Plan B works. If I had my way, I'd find a way to rid the island of these prehistoric creatures as it is too beautiful to waste....just like you. I'd hate to lose you just as I am about to gain Arie. She would love you, as well, I'm sure."

That catches Sirse off guard and she looks at you with the quierest looks. Checking her watch, she marks the time. Then clicks out. 'Come with me.'
Leading you to the control room, she runs through the program list until she finds the tour program and activates it. Motioning for you to follow her down to the main doors she points to the iron bar you have almost tied in a knot around the twin handles.
Grasping each end in her little paws, she pulls on them to no effect. With a 'will you kindly?' Gesture she looks up at you.

I grasp the knotted bars and with great effort, I untangle them. Once I have removed the obstruction, I place my paw on the handles first before she can open them. I pause. I immediately kneel down to grasp her to me for another passionate kiss.
"For luck." I whisper. I stand up, glance down at her, see that she may be a bit flustered as I had caught her off guard once more. I merely grin, somewhat sadly, as I had no idea what lay before us once we opened the doors, but as long as she was beside me, I knew I would persist.
"Ready?"
I push open the doors.

As you push the doors open with a terrible groan, Sirse slips out, looks both ways. A slow scan of the forest line reveals nothing for once, no trex trying to run you off the road, no raptors hunting you. Only a warm sunny day with a mild breeze.
Waiting for you to join her, Sirse guides you down the steps. At the base of a dirt road one of the electric cars, rather battered but still functional rolls up to the visitors center and stops. The radio inside crackles, 'W-w-w-welcome to J-ur-ass-...ic Park.'
With a wave, Sirse gestures for you to get in, the vehicle sagging under your massive form. As you settle yourself in the back, the front being to crushed in to be seated comfortably, Sirse crawls up and wriggles into your lap.
Looking up at you she smiles, a simple warm thing, and takes your massive paws in her own. After a second the vehical begins to roll down the road and Sirse sits quietly, respectful of your silent displeasure of her actions. Though it does not stop her from casting a look up at you now and again.

I try to enjoy the ride. After all, what mammal could say they were able to tour an island full of prehistoric animals running wild, survive several attacks from the beasts, and still be able to walk away...for now anyway. Then, not to mention, I had the love of my life sitting in my lap, safe and whole...for now. Best to try to enjoy the moment. I wasn't sure what the future would hold for us but I did not want my anger to come between us. So, I gently squeezed her in my arms, kissed the top of her head, and put on a brave smile for my Sirse.
"Where are we headed to, mon petit cheri?" I ask, favoring my pet name for her, to show I was no longer angry. Worried, yes. I was a worrier when it came to her and what C.S. could do to her for failing to complete the task he had set forth for her.

Shifting in your lap to better look up at you, she clicks out her response at a slow but steady pace. ‘We are going to the helicopter lift zone, on the far end of the island. The loop will eventually take us there, but with the damage done to the car it will take us upwards of two hours. From there We should be able to secure the last jeep, it is gas powered and not limited to rails, and make the final trek to the South dock.’
Abruptly Sirse’s texting stops and she grasps her hand to stop a slight tremor that has taken it. After a second or two it dies down and eventually stops. Pretending that the micro spasm never happened she pushes on.
‘The first extraction window will be closed by the time we get there, so we will have to use the one at the docks. And that failing…we swim. Hard.’
Looking out over the jungle that slowly moves by overhead, Sirse’s eyes brighten. Pointing at the palms overhead, she motions for you to start grabbing at the vegetation near and around the vehicle as you roll by. By stuffing the foliage around the interior of the car, a measure of camouflage is added, not much, but some.
As the car rolls down the road, the speaker clicking on and off intermittently, ‘-A-A-And if you lo- -to your -ight, you can see our stegosaurus paddock. These-s-s-‘ The voice fades into a crackle of static and stops.
In your lap, Sirse’s tiny frame begins to relax. Small arms work their way up to reverse hug you, as she looks out over the grassy plains. To your right a large herd of stegosaurs lumber about, apparently not aware that the fence has been deactivated. Casually munching at the brush, they give the damaged rover a single look, determine it is not a threat, and go back to eating.
‘It’s sort of beautiful, don’t you think?’ Sirse texts, looking at the large beasts.

"They are, in their own massive, prehistoric way, quite beautiful to look at." as I glance at the ginormous vegetarians peacefully chomping away at the treetops.
"However, the most beautiful thing in the world that I can see right now, is you." as I gently squeezed her, as I had my arms protectively wrapped around her. "Curse CS and his schemes! We will both need some R&R once we get back. And I need to show her that I am not angry, just very protective when it comes to her well-being. I imagine she has not had anyone care for her as much as I do. I will need to take it slow, to introduce to her the art of being loved...and accepting it. I do not want her falling out with CS. If need be, I will plead my case for her." as we slowly make our way through the guided tour.
I had noticed the micro-spasm and I wondered if the stress of the day was beginning to wear on her. I knew it was definitely affecting me as I had not eaten anything since we had arrived. I put it off knowing that I still had a lot of winter fat stored up which I could fall back on as my ancestors had when they hibernated. But, it was a poor replacement for the food I had cooked for Sirse but had not been able to eat. I realize I had failed to ask if she had eaten given the excitement we had just gone through.
"Are you feeling well, mon petit cheri? You're hand trembled back there. Were you able to eat any of the food I had left out for you?"

Sirse was careful in choosing her words, the clawed gashes on her back still burned dully. Her head felt like it had been used as a drum for rocks. Reaching for magic without being able to properly insulate her mind had magnified that hurt ten times over. And on top of all that there was a cocktail of venom and anti venom waring it out through her veins.
'I am fine, just a little tired.' She clicked out a bit hesitantly. At the mention of food she cursed herself for not saving anything for later. Or for her partner who now held her in his arms.
'Eat while you can, when you can. For you may not get another chance.' That was one of the harsh lessons C.S.had taught her while he trained her. Still it did not illeviate the guilt building inside her. The worming guilt brought with it another pain, making her want to retch, to expel her haisty lunch. Instead, she forced herself to respond tactfully.
'I did, it was quite good.' Her hand moves up to run along your chest town to your stomach. 'Have you feed recently?'
As you converse, the jeep continues to roll on, rounding the bend the herbivores vanish behind a wall of green. A faint trickle of smoke rises from the engine, but nothing seems to come of it.
In the distance an octagonal sign displays a diminutive skull as the radio crackles.
'Up n-xt if you l- -ight you will... -osaurs paddock.'
Shifting Sirse looks up at you curiously.

For some reason, I experienced some sort of deja vu, as if we had been here already. I recognized the dilophosaurus paddock and the large cage where I had planned to ensnare one of the vile beasts. My plan was we would satisfy CS's need for a dinosaur with a live specimen and at the same time, release me from Black's charge to stop her from bringing back the canister.
I explained all this to Sirse. "Why do I get the feeling that we've done this already? I see the large cage ready to be loaded onto the truck. Weren't we able to catch one? And, isn't it because of that plan, you almost died in that cage?"

Blinking up at you, as the land rover bounces down over the gravel packed earth, her expression a bit disturbed coupled with confusion. 'We did...' Crawling up your chest, she presses her hand against your forehead, peers into your eyes, and examines the wound there. Satisfied she crawls back down, and clicks out her response. 'Your temperature is up, and you may have sustained a mild concussion.'
'I - we were. Unless...it's escaped. And yes,' She shows you her back, still bandaged and raw from the clawing she revived. 'We did catch one, and yes it did leave a few marks behind.'
A little concerned that the stress coupled with the cocktail of drugs in your system is taking it's tole Sirse makes to distract you. Working her way into the crook of your arm, she takes your massive paw in her own little ones. Tiny digits tugging on your fingers, she tries her best to comfort you.
'Please, tell me a story.' Sirse looks up at you, 'Any story.'
The land rover continues it's journey through the paddock, a few birds chirp and there is the distant call of a few dinosaurs, but none that sound close.

A group of compies, seeing the rover rolling by, panic and jump up and away. Chittering angrily in the underbrush.

"Ah, yes. The tale told by the Brothers Grimlock. Very speciesist, if you ask me as they were not kind to poor Goldifox. No, I will tell you the modernized, politically correct tale."
"Once upon a time, there lived three polar bear brothers, in a condominium high above Zootopia. It was the eldest brother's birthday and his younger siblings decided to surprise him with a special cake. So at his birthday party that night, as the guests milled about enjoying the drinks and food, his younger brothers wheeled in a very large cake and presented it before their brother. The younger siblings started to sing 'Happy Birthday' while encouraging the other guests to join in. As the crowd sang the last note, Goldifox jumped out of the cake, dressed very provocatively in only a bikini and a sash saying 'Happy birthday, Gus!'
Now Gus was caught off guard but didn't want to keep the scantily clad vixen waiting in the cold room as it was the normal practice to keep the temperature low for their comfort. However, for the small arctic vixen, clad only in a skimpy swimsuit, it may have been unbearable and given that she may have been in the cake for some time, the cold had apparently gotten to her. As he approached her to help her step out of the cake, he could hear her teeth chattering. He immediately took off his dinner jacket and wrapped it around the young female. He excused himself while he brought her to the kitchen where he had her sit on a chair while he provided her with a small bowl of hot soup, buttered bread on a plate and hot chocolate in a cup that she could barely hold in her two paws.
'Now young lady, I like to thank you for your performance but I have yet to know your name. How may I call you?' Gus addressed the adorable young vixen as she sat in the chair, completely swamped by his large dinner jacket.
The young vixen made a writing movement with both hands, indicating she needed a pen and paper. I reach in one of the drawers and pluck out the necessary implements and hand them to her.
'Goldifox,' she wrote.
Gus raised an eyebrow, indicating his disbelief. 'Stage name,' waving his paw as if to brush away the lie. 'Who are you really, mon petit cheri?'
She hesitated then wrote only one word: 'Sirse.'
'Ah, such a lovely name. Very well, Sirse, let us get you out of that skimpy costume and into some proper clothes so that you can mingle with me and my guests. Where are they?'
She shook her head and held her paws up shoulder level to indicate she had none.
Gus frowned at this. 'Did you mean to say, you were delivered in that cake while wearing that costume?' She nodded at this. 'How long ago was this?' She lifts up three fingers and then with one digit she she makes a circling motion in front of her. 'Three minutes?' Gus asks. She shakes her head. 'Three hours!?' he says incredulously, shocked she had been kept prisoner just so she could entertain him. She nods her head as he sees the sadness in her eyes.
He resolved to have a good long talk with my brothers but for now he needed to make sure she did not freeze to death in the penthouse. He allows her to finish the badly needed food and drink and then he picks her up, bridal style to his room. He feels her tense up but then sighs as if in resignation allowing him to carry her to his bedroom.
Once there, he sets her down on the bed where she seems to shrink away from him. He turns away and leaves the room. She is surprised. She had expected him to take her right away just like all of her other clients did but he had left her alone in his room, still clothed in his dinner jacket. Suddenly, she is startled by his return as she sees he is carrying a sealed valise. He places it down, opens it with his thumb and looks at what appear to be decks of cards but with wrist straps attached to them. He takes one out and hands it to her.
'I am an inventor of sorts and this is an old prototype of a body suit that will keep you warm when it is cold and cool when it is hot. Place it on your wrist and activate it by pressing the button on it. The suit will expand to completely cover you and there is no need for any snaps, buttons or zippers. You may want to remove your swimsuit before you do so in order to prevent chafing as it is very form fitting. I will leave you to get changed and I will be back shortly.'
When he gets back, he finds the vixen seated on his bed, her eyes still reflecting sadness, her tail and ears drooping.
'Why the long face, mon petit cheri? Does the bodysuit not please you?'
She nods to him with a small smile. It was the first time he had seen her do it and it made her all the more endearing to him.
'Then, why is there a frown when it should be upside-down?'
She winces at his poor joke but makes a sweeping gesture towards his bed. Then she makes the universal and unmistakeable gesture of a male and female rutting.

Sirse, quiet bemused by your choice if tales, and the character names, listens intently. The rover continues its roll down a gradual incline, the broken radio blissfully silent for a change.
Realizing that you have stopped your tale, Sirse looks up at you. 'So what did Gus do? Pin the little fox to the bed and ravage her?'
Her tone is light, but there is a faint flicker of power behind her hazel eyes.

I smile at her. "Patience, my vivacious vixen, all will be made clear soon enough. Now where was I?"
Gus frowned at the sign she made. He was no fool as he had expected his brothers to pay for all her services. But, he did not like the fact that she felt she had to do it because she had been paid for it. He shakes his head and says, "No. We don't need to do it. You are free to stay here in my bedroom while I retire to the couch in the living room." as he gets up and gathers a few pillows and beddings for the couch.
Suddenly, Sirse is in his face, and she looks very angry. She quickly writes out something on the pad, rips it off and practically shoves it in his face. He takes it and reads.
'Why? Not good enough for you?'
Gus chuckles. "That's not it, my dear. You are certainly a very ravishing creature with an exquisitely developed and sexy body. I'm a fool not to take you up on your suggestion."
She tilts her head to the side for a moment, lost in thought. Then, her faces lights up with a sort of epiphany and writes one word on the pad.
'Gay?'
His laugh reverberated around the room so loudly she had to put her paws to her sensitive ears to keep from becoming deaf. She saw him slapping his knee, guffawing so much that he was in tears.
"If ever I had a dollar every female asked me that question," he says as he recovers from his hysterics, "I'd be able to buy a private island by now. No, I won't rut with you even though I find you the most compelling and adorable creature. It is because I am cursed..."
Her eyes widened at this. 'Does he mean, like a vampire or werewolf?' she thought in horror. As she was about to run from the room, he continued.
"...cursed to be the gentlemammal my mother taught me to be."
She looked at Gus with an expression that said, 'WTF?' and wrote out two words on her pad and then showed it to him with a paw on her hip: Drama Queen
Again, Gus' laughter threatened to make her go deaf, as she winced while covering her ears.
"I like you, Sirse. You have spunk and sass. I like that in my women." Gus chuckles after recovering from the happy outburst. "However, I cannot and will not take advantage of your situation. I know foxes are looked down in society which makes it very difficult for most of you to find good, decent paying jobs. The fact that you chose to stay locked up in the cake despite the cold temperature in my penthouse and you offered to have sex with me even though I could tell from your body language that you were hesitant to do so...no, you are too fine a lady to do that to. If ever we are to engage in sexual intercourse, it would be to make love, not primal rutting. And under better circumstances. One where we are on equal footing not under the duress of a contract forced upon you because of your economic background and species."
He stands again and gathers up the spare bedding. "I'll let you get some rest-" He is halted once more from leaving by Sirse's paw on his arm. She scribbles on the notepad again and shows it to him with a shy smile.
'Please. Stay. Bed too big. Very cold alone. Need warmth. Cuddle only?'
He smiles at her and then leans in to give her a kiss on the head. "Of course, mon petit cheri, if that is what you wish?"
She nods her head again. Gus then gets the bed ready for the both of them to sleep in and as she slides under the bed covers, she looks back at him and frowns. She takes the pad and quickly scribbles something on it and hands the paper to the bear.
'Why clothes still on?'
"Because my dear," as he smiles, "my motto is: If the devil is tempting you, you don't need to make it easy for him."
She harrumphed at this then scribbled something else.
'Fine. Pants on. Shirt off.'
He chuckles and does as she asks, then slides in next to her. He is startled to find she had removed the bodysuit while underneath the bed covers as she squirmed into his arms to press herself into his chest, plunging her nose into his fur to breathe in his intoxicating scent. His paws where full of naked vixen, one who was running her claws through the fur on his chest and nipping playfully at his jaw. He laughed at her playfulness and smothered her in his large furry arms, holding her as if she were a precious cargo. He nipped at her neck just as she did him, breathing in her heady, flowery scent. She put a paw to his muzzle and guided it to hers. He found her mouth soft and willing, her tongue dancing as if it were a fairy flitting from flower to flower underneath the midnight sky. After making out for a while, Gus pulled back, catching his breath, to say, "You definitely are a temptress, mon petit cheri, but I gave you my word. Come, let the Sandman bring us to his kingdom. In the morning, I will take you back home personally after breakfast."
Sirse yawns and nods in agreement, realizing that the time spent inside the cold cake had tested her limits and now was ready to just sleep, cuddled warmly against the living hearth of the bear's chest, nodding off to the rhythm of his heartbeat.

The jeep rolls down the path, and the radio sputters something that comes out in a garble then stops working. With a little shake of her head, Sirse looks up at you again, and motions for you to continue the story.

"No, I won't, mon petit cheri, but I paused...for now the drama begins." as I pretend to wipe a tear form my eye.
Sirse rolls her eyes and clicks off two words: "Drama Queen."
I merely grin as I continue with my tale:
Gus awakens to a bed without the small vixen and yelling coming from the living room. He hurriedly dons a robe and as he ties the belt around him, he quickly enters into a chaotic scene where even Dante would be have been scared to enter. The room was in disarray and the couch and pillows had all been slashed. There were items missing from the shelves; nothing extremely valuable but it could fetch a small fortune when fenced. His brothers were running about, each with a poker stick in their hands, opening doors and cabinets, apparently searching for something...or someone.
Gus raises his voice to get their attention. "What is going on around here?"
Bob, his second brother stops to whirl on Gus and exclaims, "Someone has been in my room...and has made off with my jewelry."
Charles, the youngest comments as well, "Someone has been in my room...and made off with my rare coin collection."
"I bet you it was that dirty fox who you slept with last night...the little bi-"
Gus' angry growl prevents Bob from finishing his sentence. "You know my rules while you stay with me! No swearing! I will not tolerate such slurs as well from speciesists like yourselves!"
"Well, if she really is innocent," Charles asks, "where is she? She's probably sneaked out while you were sleeping off your rutting her!"
Gus merely sighs and turns to a hidden panel on the wall. He consults a small tv screen for a few minutes then closes the panel once more. "Wait here!' he commands as he heads towards the kitchen area.
As he enters, he sniffs the air and scents his prey nearby. He can smell her fear. He walks softly over to a small cabinet hanging above the stove that is eye-level. He gently raps on the door. "Liebchen? Mon petit cheri? Sirse...please, come out. I will not harm you nor will I let others hurt a hair on your head."
He waits for a while then continues, "I would also prefer if you came out yourself as I see my meat knife is missing. I will back away from the door and then you can come out, ok?"
He doesn't wait for an answer but moves ten feet away. After a while, the door of the cabinet slowly opens and he sees the small fox, trembling with fear, her paw shaking as she holds the meat knife in one hand...and a large pillowcase in the other.
Gus smiles at her and says, "You must be hungry mon petit cheri. Why don't you have a seat at the breakfast table while I make some food for us? How do you like your eggs and coffee?"
She stares at him as if he had gone crazy. But, she makes a spinning sign with her finger then points to the dark handle of the knife.
Still smiling, Gus goes to the fridge to prepare their first meal of the day while Sirse slowly makes her way down from the cabinet and slinks over to the breakfast table, still clutching both the knife and pillowcase. She watches Gus who has his back to her as he works at the counter. She listens as he merrily whistles, as if he had not a care in the world and there wasn't a small fox behind him clutching a knife that could be planted in his back at any time.
Feeling guilty, she lowers the knife down as she watches him prepare the meal. She wondered why she was in this predicament. He had been a gentlemammal, as he said he would be, giving her her dignity back, seeing her not just as a fox, but as an equal. She had awoken thirsty to get some water from the kitchen when...
"Sirse?" His voice snapped her out of her reverie as she nervously clutched the large knife in her paw again. "I'm coming over there. Now, you can put both the knife and pillowcase down as I doubt you will look dignified eating without your hands free? Or would you prefer me to feed you?" as he waggles his eyebrows at her playfully.
She makes to laugh but no sound comes out. However, that does not stop her from crooking one her digits to indicate a come-hither motion, then points at Gus and makes a feeding motion to her mouth as she smiles back.
Again, she hears his sonic boom of laughter, as he chuckles at her audacity. She feels safe with him, however, she has lived on the streets most of her life and one did not let one's guard down...for anything or anyone.
Gus places a large tray which contains bowl of scrambled eggs, turkey bacon, warm bread with orange marmalade on the side along with butter. He goes back to the kitchen counter-top as he picks up two bear-sized mugs of steaming coffee.
Gus picks up a spoon filled with eggs and brings it to her lips while saying, "Here comes the choo-choo train. Open wide! Chuggachuggachuggachugga! Woowoo!"
She gives him a glare accompanied by what he had immediately recognized as her 'WTF' look.
"Just kidding!" he says as he spreads his paws in an unspoken gesture of apology. "It's just that you look so adorable trying to look threatening with the knife." he grins.
She gives him the universal sign with her middle finger then waves her paw to indicate she wanted to be fed.
Chuckling, Gus feeds his guest, who, as she starts to eat, begins to realize how good the food tasted and how hungry she was. She dropped the pillowcase and grabbed the spoon from his paw and began shovelling food into her mouth.
"Slowly, mon petit cheri, you'll choke on the food," he said as he laid a paw on the arm holding the spoon. The moment he did, she froze and then looked at his paw on hers, then looked at him as she tapped the knife on his wrist to indicate she wanted to continue eating unfettered, her cheeks stuffed with food.
Gus grinned and acknowledged the implied threat but did not remove his paw right away. "Only if you promise me that you'll slow down. There's a lot where that came from so if you're still hungry afterwards, I'll make you some more."
Sirse blinked at the bear. He hadn't made a move to disarm her, had fed her and despite the threat of the knife, he continued to be more concerned about her than for his own safety. The memory of how he had treated her last night, the smell of his fur, and how he had made her feel like a lady again came crashing through. Her guilty conscience finally caught up with her and she dropped the knife to cover her face with her paws, tears streaming down her face, soundlessly crying. As she did, she felt a large presence loom over her, pick her up gently and slowly stroked her back and ears as he rocked her in his arms. As he did, he hummed a lullaby, comforting her as she cried her heart out, allowing her repressed emotions to finally break through.

Holding up her paw to pause your tale, Sirse clicks out a hasty message. 'Wait-what happened to the jewels and the rare coins? Whi broke into the house? And why was..Sirse hiding in the cupboard?'
Looking at you with almost childish impatience, she taps her foot, or would if she were at an angle to fo so.

Chuckling, I say to my lovely companion, "So, now you like the drama?"
She snorted before hitting me in the chest with her paw and motioning impatiently to continue. Bending my head to kiss her nose, further irritating her, I continue.
Gus rocked the emotionally charged vixen in his lap, allowing her to discharge her pent-up emotions not to mention the trauma of this morning's hullaballoo. As her tears subsided, he could feel her quietly gulping for breath as she slowly recovered. He then slowly took a digit and raised her chin so he could look deeply into her hazel eyes. "Ah, such sadness. It does not befit you that you be burdened with it. If you will let me in, perhaps I can be of help? Not charity, mind you. But as a dear friend, who wishes to help out another friend."
She wiped the tears from her eyes as she made a scribbling motion with her paws. Gus reached over to a drawer and extracted another pad and pen, handing it to her. She quickly wrote something on the paper and handed it to him with a cheeky smile in place.
'Only friends? Friends do not cuddle and smell of one another in the morning."
Again, Gus' laughter reverberated around the kitchen, but this time Sirse tolerated it, even beginning to love how his laughter eased her pain.
"Well, as I said, I'm a gentlemammal and I didn't want to assume anything. If you'll permit me, I would love to be more than just friends."
Sirse was stunned by his request. Many mammals never asked her for anything. They merely took assuming it was theirs to take just because she was a fox. Unused to such gentle attention, she shyly agreed by nodding and placing a kiss on his cheek. The bear growled in pleasure and said, "Now, now, is that the proper way for mammals who are dating to share their fondness for one another. I think this is more appropriate," as he turned her muzzle up to his as he gently placed his lips on hers for an intimate smooch worthy of the great lovers.
After the intimate moment was over, Gus reached over and continued feeding the vixen who was still on his lap and seemed to prefer it over the hard seat. He fed himself as well and after both had their fill, Gus looked at her with seriousness in his eyes.
"Now, tell me what happened this morning. I woke up to find you had left our bed and to shouts coming from my brothers. They are a bit of speciesist louts and I was afraid they had tried to harm you in some way. And why were you hiding in the cabinet with the knife and pillowcase?"
Sirse refused at first. She did not want to say anything and turned her head away. Gus slowly stroked her chin, guiding her face up to look at him. "Please. I will listen and will not judge. You have my word."
With much hesitancy, Sirse began scribbling into the pad and after many sheets, Gus had her story. As he put the last sheet down, she could see the anger in his face. She became afraid and attempted to leave her comfortable spot in his lap. But he merely scooped her up in his arm, picking up the pillowcase with his other paw and stood up. She tried to flee but he had her in a firm yet comfortable grip so she could not escape his clutches.
He exited the kitchen with her in his arms and they stood before his brothers. Her fear skyrocketed and she struggled further in his grasp. Somehow he managed to hold on to her, as he then tossed the pillowcase over to his brothers. He then slowly began to stroke her ears and kissed her on the cheek while staring angrily at his siblings, attempting to assuage her fears as he had scented her apprehension.
"Do not fear, mon petit cheri, you have my word that you will not be harmed." he whispered. She could sense the anger in his words and prayed that her ending would be swift and merciful, closing her eyes to her fate.
"Ah, so you caught the thief!" chortled Bob. "Well done brother!"
"What took you so long?" grumbled Charles. "We could smell breakfast cooking and we're starving as well. Did you have to rut with her before bringing her out here?' he sneered.
Gus merely pointed to the pillowcase and said, "Here are your possessions. Take them and I'd prefer if you leave within the next ten minutes before I call the police."
"Why can't we be here when they come for her? We can stand as your witnesses even though there won't be a need for any as once they see she's a fox, they'll haul her away and incarcerate her, no questions asked." questioned Bob.
"And besides, why do you get to have all the fun with her? I mean, we paid for her services so I think she should show us a good time before she's put away for a long spell. It's not like she'll get any male visitors while there so we can make sure she won't forget us." Charles leered.
"Enough!" Gus roared. "You now have only five minutes before I call the police for attempted rape, blackmail and willful destruction of private property! Based on what she told me plus the video from my hidden surveillance cameras, I pieced together that you both confronted her and demanded the exact same thing. You even tried to frame her by tossing the pillowcase at her so that her fingerprints were all over it when she caught you destroying the furniture and tossing the place. She refused, as is her right as any mammal has, and then you attempted to have your way with her. She managed to escape you but you continued further destroying the room just so it would appear she had committed your crime."
"I know you've been trying to take control away from me from the company but using her as a tool in your campaign? Downright criminal. You will both submit your personal resignation from the board and the company will furnish you a healthy stipend so that you will not be penniless. She is under my aegis and protection and if I find out she is harmed in any manner, you will answer to my friend, The Shark, who will gladly let you sleep with the fishes. You will not have any interaction with her and if you do, the video tape will be released and you will face criminal prosecution."
Only when Gus' brothers had vacated the premises did he lower her down to the floor. "My apologies, mon petit cheri. You should not have been subjected to such abuse. Would you like to get some rest before we head on off to your home?"
Sirse stood shaking, unsure at what had just occurred. She was alive.

Sirse’s mouth hangs agape for a fraction of a second, before her fingers start to fly. ‘Wait! Gus’s own brothers were trying to get rid of him to take over the family business? I thought you said this was supposed to be Goldie Locks…’
Still, the story was enjoyable, though not the one she expected it to be. The more he told her, the mores she began to wonder how true this story of his was. The rover bounced along, the rocking motion was comfortable in Gus’s arms. Mumbling something about politically correct tales she motions for you to continue.

Still smiling as we neared our destination, I said, "It still is about Goldifox, mon petit cheri. As you you will see when the tale ends, as in a good fairy tale, they all live happily ever after.
Sirse takes the pad and scribbles frantically and shows it to the bear. Gus takes it from her and shakes his head.
"No, my dear, I do not plan on calling the police to have you arrested. It never was my intention to do so. My speciesist brothers wanted to put me in an embarrassing position so that they could oust me from my position in the company. I am sorry they used you for their nefarious plans. They never realized that my affection for you was more than fur deep and were going to ask the board to have me removed because I was in an interspecies relationship with you. Little did they know that I had been quietly acquiring stock so that I now own more than 50% of the company through various proxies."
Sirse wrote out three more words and showed it to him as she crossed her arms and started tapping her hind paw.
'So, what now?"
Gus grinned at her impatience. "Well, I was rudely awakened from my sleep and it seems you may need a nap to calm your nerves. May I propose we retire to the bedroom to continue where we left off?" as he wiggled his eyebrows teasingly.
She snorted at him and passed him a note as she looked at him with hurt dignity written all over her face.
'Not floozy. Not someone who just jumps into bed with first mammal she meets. Should be courted.'
Gus puzzled over the note as she handed him a second, this time, a mischievous smile on her face.
'You said I'm a lady. Prove it to me then.'
At this he laughed so much that the walls shook. "You use my curse against me? Ah, what panache!" he smirked. "Very well, I will be your gentlemammal and woo you like the lady you are...and deserve to be." as he knelt onto one knee to grasp her paw gently to raise it to his lips. "I will bring you home now so you may rest and I will pick you up this evening for our very first date. Does this please you?"
She nods her head, writes on the pad once more and passes it to Gus but not before folding it in half first. Before he can read it, she presses herself up to him and kisses him with such fervour that takes his breath away and makes his head swim. When he recovers, he realized she had slipped out of his grasp and into his bedroom. He gazed at the vixen's lovely bushy tail attached to her perky behind as it sashayed beckoningly at him and disappeared into his boudoir. He then opened her note and once he did, his laughter could be heard throughout the apartment. "Someone's been sleeping in my bed..." he said to himself as he placed the note on coffee table as he began cleaning up the mess his brothers had left.
'My home is where my heart is and my heart is with you. I will nap as you suggested. You may join me as soon as you have tidied up the place. It is not fit for your mate.'

Grinning, Sirse elbows you in the chest, and clicks out. 'One day your eyebrows are going to escape off your face and into the wild, and then were will you be?' After a pause she added, 'We're nearing the end of the line and nothing terrible has happened to us yet, so I suppose this is where we get our happily ever after?'
With a little effort, she pulls herself up, and wrapping her arms around your neck, plants a kiss on your cheek.

I take her paw in mine and place a kiss on it. I silently acknowledge that we hopefully have as good an ending as the characters in my story as we approach the helipad. After all, once we took the gas-powered jeep from there onto the docks, we would be home free. What could possibly go wrong?
