Description Bronze Artist #3 / 50
(4 hr speedpaint, not incl. sketch)

I almost ran out of time with this one because of the amount of detail it required (perspective-correct bricks + speedpaint = chaos)... but it managed to come together very quickly at the end. I could have spent quite a few more hours detailing and sharpening it, though...

So far that's 2 successes and 1 sorta success... that's good, right?

What do you think... do you like this one better than the first one I made?

My process was very unusual for this picture because it consists entirely of man-made objects. I'm a little scared to show my timelapse video because it's not very representative of how painting usually works. Also, I made the mistake of painting underneath my sketch instead of on top of it and totally used the wrong brush type everywhere at the beginning.

Still, it's fun to watch at 24x, so here it is anyway: [link]

Just don't look too much into my horrible, HORRIBLE process. Hopefully that will get better as I get more practice.

This one is a big step. Very realistic looking. I guess it still looks kinda cartoonish (I don't know if that's your aim or not) obviously you could put more detail in the bricks, barrel and bag, with a more hard rounded brush.

But I'm in LOVE with the way you did the shadows of the light on the ground and on the walls. Great effect. 3 down, 47 to go!

Yep, I woulda detailed more with hard round / chisel if I had more time, but the bricks took forever just to shade, so I couldn't go back over the picture as much as I'd like.
