Aaaaaand after a little bit of an unintentional hiatus, I'm BACK babeeey!

Okay, I feel like before the story continues too much further, I should mention the faces.

I'm not very good at faces.

Most of my drawing career has been spent on machines. Buildings, ships, space suits, and ESPECIALLY robots and power armor. Most machines are drawn as compositions of cubes, cylinders, parallel lines, and other such rudimentary shapes. These things are all simple and similar, and after much practice with them, I actually find them pretty easy to get right. I've got machines HANDLED. But human beings, and faces in particular, are stupidly complicated shapes with a lot going on at the same time. There's no simple metric for gauging what goes where, how big a thing is or what a head is supposed to be shaped like, and worst of all, everybody on the planet sees real-life human faces so frequently that even small errors in art are absolutely glaring.

Back when I was primarily drawing Gravity Falls stuff (i.e. fanart of a cartoon) I generally just settled for whatever face communicated the most emotion, and that was more than good enough. But now that I'm drawing Metroid, where perhaps (perhaps not) there's less need for emotion but more need for realism, I've found my skills aren't quite up to the task at hand. The faces are too wonky to be realistic, but the machines are too realistic to be stylized, so they don't exactly fit.

So I'm sorry about that.

I hope you'll bear with me and be able to look past some of the wonky cartoonishness (some of which is still intentional, because I like to show a lot of emotion) and enjoy the comic regardless. I'm still trying to improve.

Samus's face in the third panel came out pretty good though. IDK.

Yeh, can tell your touch for mechanic design are ypur spciality here.
You do need some more work on face structures but to credit they kinda looks like they belong in a old farytail book.
