you want the magic wand, not the select tool. Β If you're using select, it'll select everything on that layer provided it isn't blocked by what's drawn (Eg: A circle. Β If you draw a cirle and select the background, what's inside of the circle won't be selected. Β If you on a different layer from the circle and click select, the whole layer and whole canvas will be selected because you aren't on the layer with the circle drawn on it)

you have to be on the layer with the drawing on it and there has to be no holes in the drawig's lines

Hey, I know it's been a month or so but did you figure it out? When you click on the magic wand tool you have to drag the color difference down for it to work.

ive found this extremely helpful but for some reason, my version of Sai is not the same as this.
The folder says 1.10 or 1.1.0 but there are some options that I dont have access to such as the 'all images' option in the wand tool or luminosity.
Would you happen to know why?

Sometimes, when you set the opacity to whatever you want, and you don't like how the lines look, you could use the eraser.
Sometimes I have bumps or jagged places, and I normally go over with the eraser and fix it up.

When I highlight the picture, the whole canvas gets highlighted. I don't understand. xD
π: 0 β©: 1
coffaefox In reply to asceii [2012-10-21 22:24:52 +0000 UTC]
wherever you've drawn should be the only thing that gets highlighted. If you're whole canvas is getting highlighted, try erasing bits where you don't want highlights

asceii In reply to coffaefox [2012-10-21 23:52:42 +0000 UTC]
If I click somewhere else, or another brush, everything I've highlighted goes away.

then something must be wrong with your SAI... that's weird.. I've definately never heard of that happening before :/
