I have literally spent the last four hours neck deep in youtube videos on how to learn magic wand and this was my last attempt and it worked! I can not thank you enough!

you have to click Selection Sources in the tool too

It only works if you drew it IN paint tool SAI, not for PNG pictures you imported... I still don't know how to highlight imported PNGs!

Instead of using transparency use color diffrence with the diffrence on 0

have you selected the layer the lines were on, sometimes that works

What does it mean when you you magic wand, it hits your black lines? I use pressure tool and I use a tablet when drawing, so it always gets my lines. -.-

to use magic wand make sure all your line art is connected or else it will "bleed out"
it would select everything if you dont fix up your setting first.
make a new layer to color the object
Β click your lineart then click selection source (which is above the new layer button)
click the inside of the object
and color like crazy without having to worry about coloring outside of the linesΒ
(I changed it a bit like cutting out a few words but it wont effect the results ^.^)Β

I find that when i do this, the selection goes beyond the blank space and damages my lines, does anyone know how to fix this?

but you don't put colour in the same layer u v u
this is what i do;
i put all my colour layers below the lineart so it won't colour the lines x'P

Have you tried putting the lines on top? I had the same problem till i realized the lines have to be above the color layer.
