Good question... didnt know there were more kinds, hehe... ehum, I think its called just "butterfly" or so because of the way you make it, cant really say. English is not my first language so maybe it is called different in that.

oh there are lots depending on the size ring you use. i have 24mm and 25mm key rings. the 24mm's max is a 12-in-1 weave where as the 25mm's max is 14 or 16-in-1 weave. by the looks of it your doing a 4-in-1 weave, the easiest in my opinion.

It was about two years ago that I made this tutorial, so I have learned alot since then - or so I thought until I saw your gallery! Haha!
Very nice work you have there, I'd like to make some "dragon" mail as they call it, but am having trouble on finding good sizes on the links, as the last shop I bought from dont seem to carry them anymore. Do you know any good online store for buying links?

lol, thanks i learned just from looking at a friends chain maille t-shirt he wore to school one day, a few years back. since then i was just curious as to how many rings one ring can hold on to. unfortunately i don't. The key rings i get are from two of the hobby/craft stores near where i live. you could always just buy different size gauged wire from a hardware store and wrap it around some sort of rod then just cut as needed. hope this helps.
