Description Before your very eyes, fooled from view, it seemed like an exact clone of something you knew very well. & then slowly, as time went by, the chance to see truth came upon your eyes, accept the possibility of knowledge; knowledge to see the truth. & now, it transpires before your very eyes, something so alien, something so completely different from what you thought you knew. A whole new experience, the truth is finally before you.

--

This piece, & partly its inspiration, is relatively inspired by a story/song by ~BrimstoneVomit , he asked if I would like to make some album art for his songs, I heard one of his songs 'The Alien' which had a story, I quite liked the song & it went very well with the story, the story is the key inspiration to the piece; I've tried to picture the planet as it transpires from what seems like earth, to the strange alien planet, as described in the story, You can check out the song/story here: [link]

Feedback is always appreciated.

Created in Photoshop CS1, at a resolution of 3000×4500.

Y'know I've asked you this before, but since I didn't a reply I might as well ask again.

I'm working on a team as 3D Artist for a fan-fiction series for the Stargate universe, and we need some "celestial" artwork for some of our themes. Because it's Stargate, we can't pay anyone anything until we get funding from MGM, but I wondered if you would mind doing some stuff for us?

Here are our two main sites:

yes, everybody who does work for us retains their own copyright (or shared-copyright if it happens to be a collab). It also appears both in a new gallery we will be putting up for Season 3's website and in whatever episode(s) it is related to; just as it would be shown normally on SG1 or Atlantis.

You would also be provided with a brief description of what we wanted, both straight from the episode's script and from any additional notes that were created.

yes it would go in your gallery We're not doing this to restrict people's own creative works. If you wanted to do it as a print, however, I think there would have to be some discussion about it... there is a meeting on MSN every Tuesday, 4pm EST/9pm GMT.

If you did do it as a print, it would effectively be for the project and would mean that some small percentage of the takings would need to go towards producing it as a CGI show; because that is our ongoing intention, and the "research" used to create it would be under the copyright of Horizon Productions (our team).

LOVELY piece patrick but it lacks a bit of depth in my opinion. The planet is awesome like the colors and brushing too. Well done dude.

I think you did a great job overally, but the lower right does look in fact a bit more flat than the other portions. But seriously not a big deal... since it's in the dark and all. Just nit-picky. Sometimes I which you'd increase the height so that I could see where the light-sources are for the brightness on either side of the body, but no bigger there either.

Also, I like how you really avoided oversaturating the color... really big bravo there. You did an excellent job on detail and I'd have to agree with your description... if you were struggling before with inspiration, it comes accross that you certainly found a really powerful new source. It takes a lot more than talent to put a lot of work into something like this. Much thanks for sharing, my friend!
