its a good speech to be sure. but out of context its not got the same impact, you need to see the ships he's talking to. I tried to get quotes that don't need the original set up or context but still have an impact and summed up that doctors personality.

I liked his speech during Vincent and the Doctor; "The way i see it,every life is a pile of good things and bad things, the good things don't always soften the bad things, but vice versa the bad things don't necessarily spoil the good things or make them unimportant."
A little wordy, certainly, but I've always liked it.
