Nightmare Moon whoops Celestia's ASS in the premier.

Yeah luckily Nightmare Moon somehow didn't retain Luna's knowledge of the Elements.
Also Nightmare Moon had her horn set to STUN for some reason.
No pony is immune to the magical mcguffin that is the Elements of Harmony.
Basically Nightmare Moon won the fight then Celestia whipped out a gun and blew Nightmare Moon's head off.

Btw, Celestia didn't even fight back when Nightmare Moon was firing those spells at her. She didn't want to harm her sister, but after she realized that NMM could have killed her and that she would eventually kill EVERYPONY with her eternal night, she chose to use the Elements to banish her sister instead of fighting back with the same amount of force as NMM. It was certainly the right thing to do.
And now that the "magical McGuffins" are no longer available to the Mane Six, we'll see how they'll deal with villains from now on. It should be interesting.

I don't hate Celestia, I wish I had her around actually. It'd make life SO much easier.
But for newcomers to the series Luna became evil because f***.
Whatever, Nightmare Moon's defeat can only be attributed to Luna & Nightmare Moon being entirely separate entities with only marginally similar motives.
