Another page of my Disqord headcanon. <3This one took a little longer, but it was worth it.
I feel I must add, that this graphic story is not really about romantic rejection being a catalyst for evil (though if you want it to be, then it can)... My point is that he was always evil. He was always meant to cause discord.
And even if it was only about romantic rejection, how does that make Celestia responsible? She's obligated to be with him so he won't become evil? How is that fair? Why should she put herself into a bad relationship? Are people (or ponies) obligated to sacrifice their happiness to satisfy the happiness of others?
Just a few things to think about...
Individuals are responsible for their own behavior and no one else's. If you take rejection badly, that's your fault. Everyone has a choice when it comes to their behavior... Rejection may be difficult, but allowing it to poison the rest of your life is worse.
Unlike Disqord here, seize the opportunity to strengthen yourself. Keep yourself busy with important things--be productive.

Hmm I think, in my opinion, that Discord might have been causing choas and havoc on pure accident due to his nature.
Then when Celestia rejected him it made him say "Ah screw it, I'm just gonna kill em. That'll make me happy."
So i guess we both have a general idea on why Discord became evil. That or he was always causing chaos, but when he met Celestia for the first time he was like "She's so pretty...I want her..." and then she basically kicked him to the curb and he embraced his true nature.

Not to be nit-picky, but that's not quite true. That's a personality-related thing, and personality is partly environmental, partly genetic. Its entirely possible that he was "born bad", but that's never the full picture. Surely everyone calling him a monster contributed to his ultimate psychopathic tendencies. People are largely a product of their genes and environment. Mind you, we are capable of change, but its extremely difficult.
I really don't mean to be nit-picking. I agree that the assertion that Discord's madness is Celestia's fault is a silly one. I'm just saying that how we take things and how we feel really isn't our fault. We can't just change our personality at will in a moments notice. I guess that's all I'm saying.

This artwork is beautiful, especially that first painting/panel of Luna in the water. The ghost text is my favorite touch: "She survived..." "She returned..." "I told myself I would take great pleasure in torturing her..." "She was right about me though...I was, and I am, a monster."

I also really love what you wrote in the description. It is beyond true. I do like to think that Celestia's rejection really couldn't have ruined his life that much. I just like to think he holds a bit of a grudge, but nothing more. Maybe it only hurt so much because he thought if he could be with his true love, maybe he wouldn't have to live life as a monster and bringer of evil. Celestia was his only hope for a normal life, but she couldn't give him that, so he realized his destiny, and is now glad to stick by it.
I really do feel heartbroken over this situation. Someone falling so deeply for another, and not being able to have them in the end really has to hurt. I would never blame the other person though. I hate it when someone turns someone else down, and people act like they're a jerk for whatever reason. What are they supposed to do? Marry them later on just to make the one person happy? Isn't love about both people being happy together? Would you really want to settle with someone you don't care for? /:

I just LOVE the way Luna is presented, the way she look like. Yous freakin AWESOME! And I tell it honetly. This work seriously made me sad, that I had chosen 3D graphics, and I'm not very good at 2D. Maybe some day... I will make something as good as this is.

This seems awfully... impersonal, if Celestia was the one he fell in love with that rejected him that caused him to go on a rampage in the first place.
Also, I would have thought they would have gotten rid of him FIRST and THEN restored order, since it seems from S2E2 that he can create chaos faster than they can fix it (assuming they can fix it at all... given that Twilight is the most powerful mortal pony mage, they MIGHT not be able to fix things directly as long as he is "awake").

I love how, right after he fumes over them ruining 'his' world, there's a faded, hard-to-see bit that showcases the shredded, anguished remnants of his conscience and soul.

Personally, I don't think Celestia really would have turned him down on appearances alone. I imagine the chaos and, well, discord surrounding him would be evident and/or easily sensed. However, given the opportunity I feel she'd have tried something else.
In regards to discord, relationships, and philosophizing; Going along with the fact that Discord is "innately evil" I don't think the rejection "poisoned" his life so much as enhanced it. I mean, provided everything stated above is true Discord in fact used his rejection to find his true calling. In a sense, I suppose it's more like everyone should take a page from the book of Discord and follow your dreams, or something like that. :3
Also, loving the comic and style. Very interesting fanon. :3

It hadn't occurred to me to think that Celestia is at fault here. But I can't help but wonder, if Celestia had been less brutal in her rejection (it comes across as brutal in the earlier panels, I got the impression that she's the one who first used the word 'monster,' although it wouldn't surprise me if Discord did something to deserve it) could he have turned out differently?
Perhaps he could have become the kind of avatar of chaos that Pinkie could appreciate, a trickster god, who uses laughter to make ponies happy...
Calling him a monster when he monster when he wasn't may have created the impression that a monster is what she wanted to see, and he of course wanted to please her.
Anyhow this headcanon has now totally become my headcanon as well.

And it could easily be argued that Celestia, in her foresight, saw what he was at his core and what he would do and she rejected him out of disgust for the atrocities he would commit.
