Time for another Top 10 Meme! Both Memes are by
Cartoon/Anime Meme: [link]
Cartoons/Anime: Love it or hate it, it's there! This is hand drawn fiction with pictures that move, have music, sound effects, and characters being voiced by people! They have been around for most of our childhoods into our later years. Now it's time I counted down my personal favorites from my earlier years.
#10: King of the Hill- Yup! This is one cartoon that deserves all the recognition it gets. It's only at number 10 because of how recent I got into it and how many episodes I look at and go "Eh... It could have been done better." But one great quality that is not to be overlooked about this is that it is almost completely realistic. Meaning that almost all of the situations in this show could, would, or probably already has happened in real life. And yet the makers just keep managing to keep it entertaining! That is some fine writing, I tell you whut!
#9: F-Zero: Falcon Densetsu (GP Legends)- Yes, technically it's also a videogame, but the anime is much more recognizable! I mean, what do you think of when you hear the name or see the title? The game on the GBA? Or the from the anime's final episode? Also, it has mad props for having quite possibly the absolute coolest J-Rock theme ever! "The Meaning of Truth by Hiro-X"! So why is it so low on the list? I don't know, I guess I just started liking these other shows more maybe.
#8: Bludgeoning Angel Dokuro-Chan- JOSHSCORCHEEEEEEER!!! Yes, I just recently got into this anime thanks to the Fiery Joker on youtube. This is part of my somewhat sadistic side who gets a kick out of comedy involving slapstick and pop-culture references. Oh yeah, and blood. LOTS OF BLOOD!!! Seriously, would you see it coming just from looking at it? A guy named Sakura pisses off a little angel who just looks like an innocent little girl or makes her cry unintentionally. She then decides to pull a spiked club and smashes his head off and a huge spout of blood shoots out of him and he dies! Then she chants and incantation that brings him back to life as good as new and then HOPEFULLY the story moves on from there! Though it is entertaining and all, it CAN and WILL get a LITTLE disturbing at times....
#7: Invader Zim- Probably one of the funniest dark humor cartoons I've ever seen! Jhonen Vasquez did an excellent job at this awesome series! Too bad he chooses not to continue it. Heck! He doesn't even want to talk about it let alone continue it! Oh well. Anyways, like Bludgeoning Angel Dokuro Chan, Invader Zim has plenty of hilarious slapstick humor, dark and disturbing moments that make you want to turn away from the tv for a second or two, and lovable characters! I don't think I've come across a single person who dislikes let alone doesn't know who GIR is! I do dislike it when there are some episodes where only Dib is on the case but there's no Zim. Those episodes tend to bug me a bit. Especially the Chicken Foot episode. That one was just plain stupid. In SO MANY ways. Gaz is (To say one thing for sure) Mandy done right. To be honest, Gaz is my favorite character from that show. Not Zim or GIR. I don't know why.
#6: Avatar: The Last Airbender- There are so many great things I can say about this show. It is epic, it is beautiful, it has incredible animations, it is well written, it is one of the only things that I think Nickolodeon actually did right (Not counting Invader Zim, The Angry Beavers, Fairly OddParents, and Danny Phantom), great characters, great music, it has great references to old Asian culture, legends, and even martial arts, the list goes on! It is a pretty deep story. Actually much deeper than all the other shows that I've listed so far! I never got tired of this show! And you know, it is actually the first show that legitimately made me tear up. Mainly from that one episode where everyone has their own subchapter in Ba Sing Se. Iroh's subchapter was my favorite for how dramatic it was and I love how it really pulls out Iroh's deep personality. It was so well made and executed that I literally started to tear up the first time I watched it. Not many things I can say the same for. This show is pure art!
#5: DragonBall- Yes, I like DragonBall more than DragonBall Z or GT. Sorry, guys! DragonBall was just more entertaining and less repetitive than DragonBall Z was. It had a simple story at first but kept it at an even pace until it reached the more interesting and complex parts of the story where DragonBall Z and GT just shot it up a little too fast for my taste. The original also made more references to Journey to the West where the other two just kept up with flying, fighting, and shooting fireballs out of their hands. It just got a little repetitive. DragonBall just seemed more interesting to me. The only reason that it's higher on the list than Avatar is because it was my first Anime and I can honestly say that if not for DragonBall, I probably wouldn't have gotten into Anime in the first place. Though, it's not the best.
#4: Midori no Hibi (Midori Days)- What do you get when you have the creator of some of the scariest Zombie themed anime and manga and the creator of Zatch Bell, a love story between two teenagers, and the desire to make it unorthidox to the point of comedy? You get THIS! A story about a a guy who desperately wants a girlfriend but can't because he's a feared fighter, and a girl who desperately wants to tell said guy she likes him but can't because she's so shy she drives herself into a coma and ENDS UP ON HIS RIGHT HAND!!! That is freaking hilarious! And it makes for an interesting story suprisingly. I really didn't expect much of it until I watched the anime and then bought the manga to compare. The series is very good! And not to mention the characters in this story are actually some of my favorites in fiction! My favorite is Shuichi Takamizawa, the Otaku. I don't know why. I really don't. Too bad it was so short! It's only got 13 episodes and 8 manga issues. Oh well. Sometimes the shorter ones end up being some of the best. Hmm.... I wonder.....
#3: MegasXLR: YOU! DIG! GIANT ROBOTS! I! DIG! GIANT ROBOTS! WE! DIG! GIANT ROBOTS! CHICKS! DIG! GIANT ROBOTS! (Plays guitar) NICE! Why Cartoon Network.... WHY!?! Why did you have to cancel such an awesome show?! HELL! Why did they have to cancel ALL the great shows?! This one especially! I mean c'mon! This show was freaking awesome! It was hilarious! It's concept was awesome! It had anime and pro-wrestling and video game references out the exhaust pipe! And it was a show about a guy who drove a GIANT F@#KING ROBOT!!! I mean c'mon! How can you just cancel a show like that?! And after only 25 Episodes?! No! Just NO! That is just inexcusable! CARTOON NETWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORK!!!! They used to be good. They really did. But now... Ugh.... (Bah, I don't really watch T.V. anymore anyways. That was back when I was a kid.)
#2: Ranma 1/2- I thank my parents for getting me into this anime! It is loads of fun to watch! Getting back to unorthidox, hilarious, and awesome romantic comedy animes, we have this! A story about a strong, rising star martial artist and his dad who go to China as part of training and find themselves falling into cursed springs at a valley full of them called Jusenkyo! Now whenever Ranma comes into contact with cold water, he turns into a girl. And when Ranma as a girl comes into contact with warm water, she will turn back into a guy! And his dad turns into a panda! HA! And to top it all off, Ranma's dad, Genma Saotome has forcefully engaged Ranma to a friend's daughter, Akane Tendo. (Who is an ignited, boy-hating beast!) This is quite possibly Rumiko Takahashi's greatest but lesser known works to Inuyasha. Gee, where have I seen something like THAT before? Where one of a great artist's work is better than another but is lesser known to it? I know I have seen another example of that somewhere.... ( -> ) Bah, I don't even know anymore.... Anyways, Ranma has easily made it to my absolute favorite Japanese Anime series! Sure, I like the manga more, but the anime is still great! It's got so many great episodes (And some dumb ones) so many awesome characters (And some you just want to strangle) hilarious humor (Even though some of it doesn't make sense and could accidentally cause confusion) and great fight scenes (And some you think even you could have done better!) Mad props to Djclyve on youtube for doing a character profile for just about EVERYONE of them! And to WMG Studios for keeping this series alive for so long!
#1!: Ed, Edd, n Eddy!- My favorite T.V. Show since I was a kid growing up in the later 90's into the early 21st century, Ed Edd n Eddy has that special spot for it's comedy, good length of 130 episodes, 4 specials, and a movie to end it off! It had a great series of miniature stories that were completely unique! None of the episodes repeated others! They all had some of the best scenes on television with it's nonstop slapstick humor! And to keep it interesting with such a limited roster of characters! That's a pretty good achievement right there! It goes without saying that Ed Edd n Eddy will never be forgotten! It is without a doubt, my favorite Cartoon/Anime of all time! Thank you, Danny Antonucci!
END OF PART 1!

I remember F-Zero: Falcon Densetsu (GP Legends). It just sucks that it was short-lived in America.

Please don't bring underrated into my deviations. Underrated and overrated arguments are some of the worst kind.
